I don't s'pose I'll get many answers. But, hey, whatever. I purchased the Jody Watley (remix) CD with her 80/90s hits. For obvious reasons her hit "Friends" reminds me of Truth Hurts, one of the best singles of 2002. Then Paula Abdul popped in my mind - not really sth you WANT, especially if it's that ghastly clip which featured Mistah Reeves.

Debbie Gibson! Whitney Houston! Early Madonna! Janet Jackson (just under Paula Abdul)

janet jackson just under paula abdul? nathalie i really do worry about you ;-)

debbie g was momentarily arresting at the time but "shake your love" etc. are pretty rickety now. the whitney of "how will i know" and "i wanna dance with somebody" i will hear no words said against (and mark s agrees with me!). janet - "control" the album, as well u know.

i take it that stock/aitken/waterman don't count, i.e. no hazell dean, mel & kim or similar?

uh...neneh c we're taking as read?

consider the direct aesthetic line, both musically and lyrically, from bananarama's "robert de niro's waiting" (song abt aftermath of rape) to the sugababes' "round round" (to hell with men).

Search: Jermaine Stewart-"We Don't Have to Take Our Clothes Off", Rebbie Jackson-"Centipede", Billy Ocean-"Get Outta My Dreams, Get into My Car".
