very very slowly >:(

minna (minna), Wednesday, 18 December 2002 11:00 (twenty-three years ago)

When is this scheduled for release? And through what label?

JS Williams (js williams), Wednesday, 18 December 2002 11:50 (twenty-three years ago)

unspecified release date, first quarter of 2003. label possibly elektra?

minna (minna), Wednesday, 18 December 2002 13:36 (twenty-three years ago)

apparently it's been very tricky to negotiate this one

minna (minna), Wednesday, 18 December 2002 13:45 (twenty-three years ago)

that guest-list is strange and massive. it looks like it's conceptual again w/ all the skits and whatnot. not sure what to make of that.

Honda (Honda), Wednesday, 18 December 2002 15:11 (twenty-three years ago)

how is this '[12] The word (featuring DJ Premier)'?

sounds like it's probably the #1 stunna

where are you downloading this from?!? Me want!!! Prince Paul has never made a bad record. Can't say that about too many hip hop producers.

Shakey Mo Collier, Wednesday, 18 December 2002 19:10 (twenty-three years ago)

Prince Paul has never made a bad record.

His association with Paul Barman puts the lie to this statement.

hstencil, Wednesday, 18 December 2002 19:12 (twenty-three years ago)

no way, I love Paul Barman. In fact, I wish Prince Paul had produced *more* of Barman's full-length (as opposed to just one song).

Shakey Mo Collier, Wednesday, 18 December 2002 19:20 (twenty-three years ago)

You would. ; )

hstencil, Wednesday, 18 December 2002 19:23 (twenty-three years ago)

minna!? you listened to it yet?

t\'\'t (t''t), Wednesday, 18 December 2002 21:07 (twenty-three years ago)

I think working with Prince Paul brought out the best in Barman, I would second the notion that his album would have been much more enjoyable with an increased Paul/Paul colab ratio.

nickalicious (nickalicious), Wednesday, 18 December 2002 21:18 (twenty-three years ago)

I still love "Psychoanalysis: What is it?" one of my top recs ever.

chaki (chaki), Wednesday, 18 December 2002 21:20 (twenty-three years ago)

chaki can you tape that for me? i been lookin for a copy for ages in the 2nd hand racks of NZ w/ no luck.

doorag, Wednesday, 18 December 2002 21:22 (twenty-three years ago)

wow you're lucky, doo, cuz i have like 3 copies on cd!

chaki (chaki), Wednesday, 18 December 2002 21:49 (twenty-three years ago)

Psychoanalysis is FABOO! First time I heard it I was like "what the fuck is this mess?!?" but it definitely grew on me - every song is like a little slice of a particular rap subgenre (the miami booty-bass tune, the "blues" song, etc.) and the gross-out/psycho jokes are on a par w/Kool Keith at his kookiest.

I *need* to hear this new one.

Shakey Mo Collier, Wednesday, 18 December 2002 22:03 (twenty-three years ago)

Is the Black Italiano guy that "you know Rufus? The moulie? Freakin'... lick 'im" voice that shows up every so often on his productions (see also: "best of both worlds... a black man's dick, and an Italian man's brain" from Barman's It's Very Stimulating)?

Nate Patrin (Nate Patrin), Thursday, 19 December 2002 00:32 (twenty-three years ago)

ooooohhhh!!! when's it out?!

M Matos (M Matos), Thursday, 19 December 2002 00:40 (twenty-three years ago)

minna!? you listened to it yet?

i was getting it through soulseek (take note shakey mo) @ approximately 0.1kbps so i only got half the intro before i got fed up and went to bed. i'm trying again now much faster from someone else though, so i will report back soon!

minna (minna), Thursday, 19 December 2002 02:39 (twenty-three years ago)

five months pass...
Oh well

Nate Patrin (Nate Patrin), Wednesday, 18 June 2003 22:53 (twenty-three years ago)

yeah it sux :(

minna (minna), Wednesday, 18 June 2003 22:57 (twenty-three years ago)

At least it was kinda meant to

Nate Patrin (Nate Patrin), Wednesday, 18 June 2003 23:01 (twenty-three years ago)

yes :(

it's okay, there's some funny stuff on it, but it seems sorta half-hearted.

Shakey Mo Collier, Wednesday, 18 June 2003 23:30 (twenty-three years ago)

I don't mind it.. the skits aren't very funny.. but I haven't given the actual songs enough analysis to point out what exactly I like about them. I didn't have any negative reaction, though

Bobby D Gray (bedhead), Wednesday, 18 June 2003 23:44 (twenty-three years ago)

I didn't have a negative reaction really - but I also didn't have the "ohmigod this is amazing" reaction that Paul usually elicits from me. I guess I expect too much...
