Go to Google.
In the search box, type: index apache mp3 insertnameofbandhere.
Obviously, you are going to replace insertnameofbandhere with the band or song you are hunting for. That’s it! I found several obscure industrial bands on the first try.

not my words but swiped from an entry on davezilla.com made a YEAR ago...obviously this method has been used for years now by those in the know (at least since Google really took off) but I never really tried it before...see what you can find!

obviously it would work for other media too e.g. mpeg, avi, jpeg...you just have to be selective (you dont even need to mention 'apache' tho it might be better to)

this 'trick' will crop up in your search results too because so many people have blogged about it (someone in ILX probably did ages ago so sorry if its old news)

It works! But you need a password.

I don't understand... why 'Apache' - is this some sort of geek codeword I've missed out on?

APache is the name of the webservers or their protocol that most files are uploaded to, i fink

and you wont need a password if the servers arent secured - and most are not

i'm 80% thru a DJ Shadow live at the ICA mp3 thanks to this baby :)

Apache is the name of the most popular webserver in the world!

(and directory listings when you don't have an index.html file have the 'Apache' and the version number of the server listed at the bottom of the page)

I hope it doesn't get too confused if you're searching for the Incredible Bongo Band.
