The Scientists to tour the U.S. p.s. what do you think of reunion tours?

Haven't seen much about it on the ghostinternetland, but apparently the Scientists are playing here in NYC in February '03. Anybody have any more info? Tour dates besides NYC?

Also, what do y'all think of reunion shows in general? I was once pretty skeptical, but the ones I've seen recently have been pretty good, if not great. In the past two years I've seen Wire, Television, Love; missed Mission of Burma, the Soft Boys; and Liquid Liquid is playing a reunion show in March.

If they can fill some seats, more power to 'em (although, i haven't seen any).

I used to think reunion tours were pathetic. Then I saw X, with Billy Zoom, play a show in Boston a few years back. They would have blown any band off the stage that night.

I think I'm the only person who wasn't blown away by the Mission of Burma reunion at Irving Plaza. That said, I don't categorically hate reunions. Sometimes (usually?) they're ill-advised, but some of them do sound appealing.

saw the scientists play here at the start of the year.

they're not really my thing, but sounded pretty good all the same - i think if i'd heard more of their stuff i'd have appreciated it a lot more.

I read this as "The Scientists to tour the USPS" and was wondering who the genius who booked them on a post office tour was.

Not quite the Scientists, but the Savage Republic reunion tour was way better than any of the original live stuff I heard

replacement drummer is Richard Andrew (well he did the Aust shows, don't know if he's touring with em?

Well, hey, I hope this helps, I got this message from the Scientist themselves. Info is from Kim Salmon:

"BORIS AND I ARRIVE END OF JAN EARLY FEB SPEND A DAY OR TWO TO GET OVER THE FLIGHTS THEN REHEARS FOR 4 DAYS THEN DO THE LONDON SHOWS ON ABOVE DATES.

WE FLY TO LA ON 12TH AND DRIVE TO VEGAS FOR THE LAS VEGAS SHAKEDOWN ON 14 THEN DO LA NEXT DAY FRISCO THE NEXT THEN DO SEATTLE THEN GO TO NYC GOING OUT TO BOSTON NEW JERSY AND PHILLY TO DO NYC ON THE WEEKEND OF 21 22 23 THEN HOPEFULLY DO EUROPE FOR A COUPLE OF WEEKS. "

That's all, I guess keep ears open for when and where!
