South Park: Chef Aid... C or D?

This is not a joke. I was home for Xmas, drinking beer w/ the ol' man and going through my lil' brother's CDs, stumbled upon this one. I think that, for all the filler, and despite the stupid cartoon voices, there are a bunch of good tracks on this. The "Bubblegoose" remix by Wyclef is 10x better than the album version, Rancid's "Brad Logan" is a keeper, Ween (aka the best band out there) contributed "The Rainbow", and the Primus song on there "Dr. Mephesto" or whatever it was called was pretty good too. And, yes, I have to admit, the Cartman/Styx song was pretty funny.

On the other hand, Master P butchers "Freddy's Dead". If I were Curtis Mayfield I would summon every iota of strength in my body to rise up out of my wheelchair, a'la Dr. Strangelove, and start going all kung-fu trippin' out on Percy's ass.

Nate Patrin (Nate Patrin), Sunday, 29 December 2002 03:27 (twenty-three years ago)

Well, yeah. The thing is, Master P never really did anything good in his entire life anyhow, so I just skip that track. Like I said, "for all the filler"...

I guess I never really brought this up. Personally, I think that anyone on Bad Boy or No Limit (and for the most part Cash Money) is garabage. I'm a Def Jam/Death Row guy myself. anyone else can eat it, when it comes to hip-hop. Except the Fugees and Wu-Tang.

Death Row? Yeah, I had you figured for an indie-label jocker. ;)

Nate Patrin (Nate Patrin), Sunday, 29 December 2002 03:44 (twenty-three years ago)

Yeah, yeah. Is there still even a Death Row out there?

Oh, And to make myself even MORE indier-than-thou I'll tell you that on Death Row, Tupac Shakur was my least favorite artist. And by saying above that I don't like Bad Boy, you can infer that I never liked Notorious BIG.

I like Red and Mef. And Run DMC. And Biz Markie. And Pras.

I think the chef aid episode was to first one to employ the "as illustrated hyoh" line. Is "Wake Up Wendy" on the album; that's fairly phenomonally rebb.

HP: You had me right up until you said Pras.

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Sunday, 29 December 2002 04:14 (twenty-three years ago)

Well, his work on "The Score" is okay, and that track he did with ODB. That's all I've heard, and I liked it. He didn't put out any solo stuff, did he?

"Ghetto Supastar". Then prison!

Nate Patrin (Nate Patrin), Sunday, 29 December 2002 05:13 (twenty-three years ago)

I thought that John Forte was the one who went to prison.

Helltime Producto (Pavlik), Sunday, 29 December 2002 05:27 (twenty-three years ago)

Oh. Well, I figured there was SOME reason we hadn't heard any music from Pras in four years. Can I get a second guess? OK, uh... he retired from music after finding Jesus!

(That or he's in the lab putting the finishing touches on his three-years-in-the-making Mystery Men bit part superstar pop collab with Tom Waits.)

I'm sailing away
Set an open course for the virgin sea
'Cause I've got to be free
Free to face the life that's ahead of me

On board I'm the captain
So climb aboard
We'll search for tomorrow
On every shore
And I'll try, oh Lord, I'll try
To carry on

I look to the sea
Reflections in the waves spark my memory
Some happy, some sad
I think of childhood friends
And the dreams we had

We lived happily forever
So the story goes
But somehow we missed out
On the pot of gold
But we'll try best that we can to carry on

(yeah)

A gathering of angels appeared above my head
They sang to me this song of hope and this is what they said

Come sail away
Come sail away
Come sail away with me
(you guys)

Come sail away
Come sail away
Come sail away with me

Come sail away
Come sail away
Come sail away with me
(you guys ha)

Come sail away
Come sail away
Come sail away with me

I thought that they were angels
But much to my surprise
We climbed aboard their starship
And headed for the star thay said'

Come sail away
Come sail away
Come sail away with me
(you guys)

Come sail away
Come sail away
Come sail away with me
(everybody now)

Come sail away
Come sail away
Come sail away with me
(you guys seriously)

Come sail away
Come sail away
Come sail away with me

(Chef:)Make it funky now!

(Cartman:)Hey, you're screwin' up my song
Hey, What's goin' on

(Chef:) Come sail away
Come sail away
Come sail away with me chidren

Come sail away
Come sail away
Come sail away with me children

(Cartman:)No, no, no, no, like this, like this!!!

Come sail away
Come sail away
Come sail away with me
(you guys can't here ya')

Come sail away
Come sail away
Come sail away with me
(you guys seriously)

Come sail away
Come sail away
Come sail away with me
(seriously you guys, screw you guys)

Come sail away(you guys seriously)
Come sail away
Come sail away with me
(you guys seriously)

Come sail away(you guys seriously)
Come sail away
Come sail away with me
(you guys seriously)

K. But we must remember that Curtis Mayfield now needs to summon all his strength to rise up out of THE GRAVE.
