Oh come on, you knew it had to happen eventually.

Daniel_Rf (Daniel_Rf), Saturday, 11 January 2003 00:56 (twenty-three years ago)

I thought it had happened already!@# Anyway, pink = sux0r, avril = r0x0r.

Pashmina (Pashmina), Saturday, 11 January 2003 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

i can't believe theres even a thread about this.

di smith (lucylurex), Saturday, 11 January 2003 01:01 (twenty-three years ago)

Pink.

Her nasty biker / skater schtick at least seems slightly more authentic than Avril's.

Mil, Saturday, 11 January 2003 01:01 (twenty-three years ago)

No need to take sides on this one. Y'see...

They're both appearing in a movie slated for next fall in which two girls meet after arriving at Yale on scholarship. They do crazy girl power shit and fail classes until they realize that their love for one another is like an unstoppable fisting juggernaut and turn their lives around with the power of unshaved pits. 'But I'm A Cheerleader!' doesn't hold a candle, from what I've heard.

Here's the link on IMdB.

I thought it had happened already!

There was a Avril Vs. Daphne & Celeste, but no Avril Vs P!nk according to my search of the ILM archives...yeah, it surprised me, too.

Daniel_Rf (Daniel_Rf), Saturday, 11 January 2003 01:04 (twenty-three years ago)

Kelly Osbourne beats them all in every area....except maybe music

stevem (blueski), Saturday, 11 January 2003 01:07 (twenty-three years ago)

Pink loses immediately for her admitted and avowed adoration of 4 Non Blondes who are patently indefensible. Avril could butcher a Killing Joke medley and she'd *STILL* be better than Pink.

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Saturday, 11 January 2003 01:08 (twenty-three years ago)

I don't love her album as much as when I first got it, and she should have left off that godawful Vietnam song, but this is how I see it: Pink has only one letter to change; Avril isn't even in the right language. She rocks.

gabbneb, Saturday, 11 January 2003 01:19 (twenty-three years ago)

Damn, I wish that Tom wasn't joking!

Keith McD (Keith McD), Saturday, 11 January 2003 01:22 (twenty-three years ago)

"Don't Let Me Get Me" = worst lyrics EVER
"Sk8er Boi" = other worst lyrics EVER

Curtis Stephens, Saturday, 11 January 2003 01:24 (twenty-three years ago)

Daniel_Rf (Daniel_Rf), Saturday, 11 January 2003 01:40 (twenty-three years ago)

Mike Skinner??

Jody Beth Rosen (Jody Beth Rosen), Saturday, 11 January 2003 01:45 (twenty-three years ago)

Taking sides: Pot vs. Kettle. Both unbelivable shite. I cannot distinguish.

kate, Saturday, 11 January 2003 02:01 (twenty-three years ago)

I'd rather have sex w/ Avril, so Pink = dud. Also, hher music does not justify the rave reviews a la sterlewine's

Vic (Vic), Saturday, 11 January 2003 02:14 (twenty-three years ago)

Pink's best song: "Get the Party Started." Super catchy and danceable and funky, with stupid but very fun lyrics.
Avril's best song: "Sk8er Boi." Super catchy and energetic, with stupid but incredibly inane lyrics.

I'll go with Pink.

My name is Kenny (My name is Kenny), Saturday, 11 January 2003 02:22 (twenty-three years ago)

Oh, wotta buncha sourpusses. The Pink/Linda Perry album is some catchy shit, and "Sk8rboi" is like all of 1982/83 wrapped in a three-minute box ("Jukebox Hero" + "Oh Mickey" + "Our Lips Are Sealed" + etc.). Don't hate the playa, hate the game!

Jesse Fox, Saturday, 11 January 2003 15:33 (twenty-three years ago)

The Pink/Linda Perry album is some catchy shit

Yes, like the plague. Invoking Ms. Perry in *anything* is reason to immediately brand it a failure (see also Xtina's disaster).

Ned Raggett (Ned), Saturday, 11 January 2003 15:38 (twenty-three years ago)

They are both good, but Avril obv.

jel -- (jel), Saturday, 11 January 2003 17:05 (twenty-three years ago)

I don't like anything I've heard by Pink. "Sk8er Boi" was my single of 2002. Avril, obv.

sundar subramanian (sundar), Saturday, 11 January 2003 19:44 (twenty-three years ago)

P!nk's had a couple of good singles, 'Get The Party Started' was particularly fantastic, but for 'Sk8er Boi' alone, it has to be Avril.

DavidM (DavidM), Sunday, 12 January 2003 03:40 (twenty-three years ago)

one year passes...
Pink.

1. Because of "Don't Let Me Get Me" and "Just Like a Pill".
2. Because "Complicated" was basically a ripoff of "Don't Let Me Get Me"
3. Because Pink doesn't write songs about skaters. I mean, skaters are pathetic...

Geir Hongro (GeirHong), Sunday, 3 October 2004 23:53 (twenty-one years ago)

1000 big, scary, skater metalheads hyped on cheap crystal meth to thread to administer ass-whoopin', STAT!

Lord Custos Epsilon (Lord Custos Epsilon), Monday, 4 October 2004 14:38 (twenty-one years ago)

That newer Pink single (Feel Good Time) was really horrible. Then again, all of Avril's recent singles have been atrocious.

Atnevon (Atnevon), Monday, 4 October 2004 21:04 (twenty-one years ago)

Misundaztood should get the recognition its wondrousness deserves some time around about Spring 2008.

Meanwhile, Avril's reached her serious artiste/cack ballads phase already.

Pink, by a knockout, 1st round.

noodle vague (noodle vague), Monday, 4 October 2004 21:11 (twenty-one years ago)

P!nk strikes me as a bit washed-up these days, no?
