This is quite possibly the best spam I have ever received. Considering the fact that I earned it by being a member of the idm list at hyperreal, it's even funnier. The sender is one Don Robinson, who is evidently a brilliant motherfucker.

To: The Source Magazine

By signing this petition you are agreeing that Ray 'The 5 Mic Giver' Benzino is the worst rapper ever hold the mic. You agree that The Source Magazine is nothing but a tool for Ray Benzino and David Mays to promote their weak projects (RSO, Made Men, Ray-Ray). You also agree to no longer purchase/read The Source Magazine due to their latest stunts lacing the magazine with Benzino propaganda (Poster, The Last Word, Hip-Hop Quotable, 4 page promotion & article). You also sign and agree that the 5-Mic rating holds absolutely no credibility.

I'm sure this is a stupid question, but why would David Mays need to go behind the backs of the editors of the magazine he co-founded in order to promte his projects? Isn't self-promotion very much part of hip-hop culture?

Some day I will find my copy of the BMOC record that Mays and J*n Schecht*r did when they were high school rappers and sell it on eBay.
