Why Isn't Anyone Posting About Maurice Gibb's Death?

Did I just miss a post or something?

To me, this seems like a serious fucking loss. I mean, they're done. And don't bother with the "The Bee Gees were lame disco stars" crap; that's just uninformed bullshit. Go and listen to the first five or six records, the production, the harmonies and the songwriting and tell me that shit isn't innovative.

Maurice may not have been the brains, but he was a crucial part. Bummer with a capital "Bum."

Sad. I've gotten a lot of recent enjoyment out of the single/title track from the Bee Gees last album "This Is Where I just Came In." The song has multiple catchy parts, and each brother gets to put his two cents in, Barry's part is particulary hilarious. I'm curious about the album, has anyone heard it? To me, the single is better Beatles-y fun than a lot of Elephant 6 and easily trumps anything and everything by Oasis since Morning Glory.

since we already have a tribute thread, why don't we use this thread to talk about this:

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/entertainment/2656123.stm ?

"We will pursue every factor, every element, every second of the timeline, of the final hours of Maurice's life. We will pursue that relentlessly. That will be our quest from now on."

If they follow every lead and it turns out that his bowel and small intestine were twisted by a fist and fourarm, will they publicise it? I'm allready hearing nasty jokes that do an injustice to the man, and can't possibly be true.

I haven't been posting about it because I have nothing to state about it other than it completely sucks that he's dead. What more do you want?

As it turns out, yes (unless I misunderstand yr intonation).

nine months pass...
"This Is Where I Came In" is a decent song, yes, well above their latter-day AOR norms.
