cd singles right ?
we've learned to like/live with them i suppose.
in some places you could get them cheap, say
1.99/2.99 and some would come with
a free video and that sort of thing.
now.
suddenly everyone in the country has a p.c.
'ah-ha ! there's money to be made here'
thinx efil rekkid companee exec rubbing his/her hands.
why not, in the style of the old skool
rip-off music videos of singles you could buy in the 80's
(a fiver for 1 song and a 'remix' cough)
release dvds of singles (see flaming lips, mr scruff etc)
- that way you can *charge* people for what used to be a freebie
and pretend it's a dvd, when really it's just
what would have been a free video off the cd.
same quality !
admittdly there's 3 songs not 1 on these things, but - come on !

i despise record companies.
i'm so glad they're losing money.

they're 4.99 each by the way.

DVD singles are an awful waste of the format considering the capacity of the discs...i encourage more bands and labels to release albums on DVD featuring videos for each track, audio commentary (!), gig footage and 'the making of' featurettes, just like the movies...i.e. actually make proper use of a medium for once

Er, yay Super Furries? No commentary tho.

Which you should get right this second, but I believe we've discussed this. ;-)

Is the initial post in this thread a poem? If so it's rather good.
