Easily classic in my book. Their only great album was Striking It Rich , but a number of excellent assorted songs scattered about other albums.

Highly classic. I can't think of any great albums of theirs, since I haven't gone through my collection in a while, but my mom likes to tell how she went to go see one of his shows, and he was too drunk to play.

And if a guy's so good you can tell a story about going to see him not play.. that's classic.

"I Scare Myself" is a great song. I don't remember what album it's on, though. My parents used to listen to them a lot.

Anyone who doesn't have it, do yourself a favor and drop 5 or 10 bucks on a copy of "The Most of Dan Hicks and His Hot Licks" - it's basically "Original Recordings" (the first album on Capitol, with some slight remixes where original masters were lost) and early versions of songs that wound up on later albums. It's awesome.
