Bad, bad, bad. Hate to succumb to "They were loads better before they got big (read: released an album)" syndrome, but in this case, it strikes me as very much the case. A couple of their earlier singles were decent enough to interest me in them, but having heard the full length, I've had more than enough. My problem with it: the exact same themes, monotonous flows & a grievous lack of humor. Their album has some varying degrees of decent production from DJ Premier, Pete Rock, Large Professor, the Beatnuts & Necro.

In essence, I'd sum them up as the following: Jews from Brooklyn trying their best to be hard. Lots of "shocking" raps about robots, politics, drugs, assassination, and the oft-referenced but hazily defined "future." The best thing the album has going for it is its Voivod-referencing artwork. Which you'd miss if you download it. But, hey, if you've got the time and it costs you nothing, you might as well give it a shot.

doom-e do you like aggressive conspiracy theory hip hop? It wants to be all graffiti Mad Max, microphone cyberpunk vigilante, but it's more like a so-so underground hip hop act getting slightly-more-evocative-than-usual soundtrack beats from Primo/sub-Primo producers. They remind me of Jedi Mind Tricks.

i loved the dead prez previous effort - made me feel like a black panther - let's get free, did. so, yes, i dig paranoiac hip hop. i'm trying to get into more underground hip-hop and my friend suggested this to start off with? also suggested percey p? any feelings about percy p?

The album's really disappointing, but two very good tracks tracks stand out, "The Future Is Now" featuring and produced by Necro and "The Future Is Now" featuring the great MF Doom.

You can also check their previous singles, such as "I Shot Reagan".
