okay, maybe you don't know what it is! it is basically a Now compilation with a big ol semi-pro kid's chorus singing EVERY LINE (no Pete Townshend jokes please)! the commercial made me drop my bowl and spoon with glee! the backing tracks are relatively faithful studio reproductions of the originals, with the edges sanded off JUST a bit; i bet if you turned up the bass a bit it would still rock. somebody must have this?? hm maybe i will order it... "Objection Tango" "Hey Baby Hey" "Don't Let Me Get Me"... this ain't no Langely Schools Music Project, this is straight-up makin money! I mean "Desperado", please, that song is ass!

BOP I knew it!! my roomie said it was kid's "pop" and i tht i'd gotten it wrong because i'd been lurching with so much unalloyed joy i wouldn't have known my own name if asked on the spot. "bop" is much better, it reminds me of some old interstitial news program on nickelodeon called kid's beat... "I'm Audra Lee... see you next time in KIDS' BEAT!" same kids-pretending-to-be-adults vibe. why in the world didn't you buy it, jess??

btw mike i'm don't understand what's ironic about wanting to buy Kid's Bop. Are you saying I'm too old??

Remember My Buddy?? "wherever I go - HE GOES!" like this sack-cloth friend your parents might saddle you with instead of driving you over to your friend's house, if they did things like that. and if they did things like that then maybe they'd rigged up My Buddy to record you through a secret camera in its eye, smiling a fixed cloth grin

the song in the commercial was horrible and justifies any permanent ban on child-singing (unless the child-singers in question have been rigorously trained in some severe environment, like castrati or the Harlem Boys Choir, i think it can be good then sometimes). hence my total surprise at how much i want this CD! am i insane?
