"Feeling dark + feeling true" gets the most frustration and emotion out of him it's really hilarious in a tremolo-bending as an ultimate expression of sexual frustration type way.

Still one of their weirdest and best songs. So much about it doesn't really make sense.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Friday, 17 January 2003 03:30 (twenty-three years ago)

That + "I Only Said" r the songs of theirs that I clamp my body most tightly to probably cos they both feature such intense tremolo bending and i want my body to imitate that to achieve my goal of ultimate ecstasy.

naked as sin (naked as sin), Friday, 17 January 2003 03:36 (twenty-three years ago)

that song doesn't really start for me until the end/outro...

"...such intense tremolo bending and i want my body to imitate that to achieve my goal of ultimate ecstasy"

I don't 'understand' this song either, but I do love it.

'I love it!'

great song. at first i kind of hated it, but it's insanely great now. the laughable imprecision of the drum programming, the hokey bassline, everything!

fields of salmon (fieldsofsalmon), Friday, 17 January 2003 20:56 (twenty-three years ago)

The best drums ever. And that monstrous, twisting, infernal BASSLINE!!! Yum! In a whole album about sex and coffee, this song is one of the most caffeinated and sexy of the lot.

kate, Friday, 17 January 2003 21:17 (twenty-three years ago)

um, can you really attain ecstasy by rubbing on CDs or LPs?

g (graysonlane), Friday, 17 January 2003 21:26 (twenty-three years ago)

In a whole album about sex and coffee

Coffee?

Ned Raggett (Ned), Friday, 17 January 2003 21:30 (twenty-three years ago)

Cupid come from coffee cup!

actually "Soft as Snow" makes perfect literal sense to me.

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Friday, 17 January 2003 21:55 (twenty-three years ago)

Soft As Snow or Mad As Snow?

Mr Noodles (Mr Noodles), Friday, 17 January 2003 21:58 (twenty-three years ago)

it's less melodic than most mbv songs, but i still like it. i was surprised when i first heard it, because it was weird to hear kevin shields voice clearly, and free of distortion. i'd already heard loveless and adored it, and this was not what i was expecting. but the song and album have grown on me a lot since then.

weasel diesel (K1l14n), Friday, 17 January 2003 22:01 (twenty-three years ago)

I just did MBV on googlism.com and found out that:

my bloody valentine isn't anything

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Friday, 17 January 2003 22:27 (twenty-three years ago)

I thought that was the whole point of the album title.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Saturday, 18 January 2003 15:48 (twenty-three years ago)

Side Note: My Bloody Valentine is now available on DVD and is even at my blockbuster.
