I hate you all. I was supposed to see a FL/Beck show in Austin, TX in November and work got in the way. I saw them twice in 1999 (including the SXSW "premiere" that was incredible) and was just hepped beyond all possible imagination to see this one. Alas, it was not to be...

A dozen kids dressed as animals and robots and santa, MORE balloons than last time, puppets, fake blood, loads of torches being waved around like air-raid sirens, Gruff from SFA dressed as a Power Ranger playing I Love You Just The Way You Are on a casio before makign up a song about a red-haired kid being shot because a farmer thought he was a fox and leading the audience in a sing-a-long about how great it was that The Flips were in town, crazier videos than before, broken drums, happy birthday songs, sadly no mechanical dove, lots of really heart-warming wittering about love and peace and stuff, a complete exorcism of cynicism, fucking wonderful.

Didn't see much of them cos we got into the venue quite late, but what I did hear sounded very good indeed. I like the fact that they had trees onstage!
