September in the Rain
It's a long long time from May to September
The weather here is still as nice as it could be but it doesn't really matter much to me for all the fun I'll have while you're so far away it might as well rain until September

What is it with September?
Maybe I ought to take a sentimental journey..

it's about the dying of the light innit?

fact: one of my songs actually rhymes "remember" with "September"

it's about going off to boarding school, I suppose (in my case)

September

The sun shines high above
The sounds of laughter
The birds swoop down upon
The crosses of old grey churches
We say that we're in love
While secretly wishing for rain
Sipping coke and playing games

September's here again
September's here again

I'll be alone each and every night
While you're away don't forget to write

There was an old hardcore band named September; they released a 10" EP on File 13 records and not much else, if I recall correctly. They were what was called emo at the time.

Do you remember / the way we used to be / June through September / in a cottage by the sea...

August die she must
The autumn winds blow chilly and cold
September I remember
A love once new has now grown old
