SEARCH: "Family Tree" (because my cousin is singing on it), "Thug Love", "Crossroads"

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Friday, 17 January 2003 19:14 (twenty-three years ago)

I was thinking the other day that if I were to have a movie made about my life, I'd want "1st of tha Month" to be used in it somewhere. Like, at the end or the beginning of the movie, you see me sitting on the roof of my house, reflecting on all the stuff I'd have to deal with, looking at the sunset, and "1st of tha Month" would be playing.

NIGGAZ HERD KRAYZE BONE LATEST ALBUM.?

KNEIGHT RIDERZ, Friday, 17 January 2003 22:01 (twenty-three years ago)

"1st of tha Month" is so classic. I used to sing it whenever I would get checks as a student.

also "It's All Good" for it's perfect anticipation of UK Garage.

di smith (lucylurex), Saturday, 18 January 2003 08:11 (twenty-three years ago)

I have to admit having a weak spot for this group even though 1) I dislike "Crossroads" a lot ("can somebody anybody tell me why/we die, we die?/I don't wanna die": awful, although the verse about Uncle Charles really gets me in EXACTLY the way it's intended to) 2) I can't for the life of me stop giggling every time they all start saying "bone, bone, bone, bone" in not-quite-unison.

Didn't hear any of the solo stuff 'cause it struck me as kind of a strike-while-the-iron's-hot thing, now I'm kind of curious

I think I'm mishearing the lyric, but I like when he says "Olde English, really don't need it" in that low bloated voice, like a guy who really can't ingest another Olde English and is waving off his friend offering him a 40.

A Chart Hit of Some Sort (Eazy), Saturday, 4 September 2010 04:07 (fifteen years ago)

I probably also am mishearing that line I sing to myself, "Backpackin'/Relaxin'/Drinkin' brews."

Only rap group to collab with 2pac, B.I.G., AND Eazy. Made "sing rapping/rap singing" into a mind-blowing and enjoyable aesthetic. Cool names, reminiscent of the seven dwarfs or something. Probably the best songs about drugs ever - cleverly named "ecstasy," "Buddha Lovers," "Bud Smokaz Only," and of course, "Tha Weed Song." In addition, the best song about welfare, EVER(1st of tha month). Anyone who hates on Bone is in part hating on fun.

it's weirdly euro-club in feel so far anyway

The Art of War double discs is pretty underrated.

This beat on All Original is great:

I might go with Krayzie Bone's 'Thug Mentality 1999' as my favorite Bone related release though. So many deep cuts on there.
