This is just an excuse to say "as long as it's got that 'tic tic' followed by that 'bump'."

What else is there?

Great. We do this all day at work.

'bunch dunch dunch dunchuh bunch dunch bunch dunch" is obvious, it's been used in a few tunes I guess

"boww dut dut dadut dut dowww" is the keyboard line from Toto's "Africa"

"Dum schika ta shicka dum dum ta schika dum dum chikum chikumm schika ta schika" is a popular breakbeat

and there's plenty more but I've got to run

okeh, that's really more of a streamofconsciousness thing, mostly, i kno', but the way it frequently *sounds* to my ears - some of what Lee Perry machine-guns outta his motor-mouth could as well be onomatopoeia
(note: this not a snide comment, me loves Lee Perry a lot)

"the boom, the bip; the boom-bip indicates to the brothers that we be on the flip tip..."

q-tip "push it along" a tribe called quest's "people's instinctive travels and the paths of rhythm"
