Someone made a CD for me that included this, and I think it's my new favorite song. Is it anyone else's? (If you haven't heard it, FIND IT NOW!)

Love it. I also really love "The Bells of Alcazar". Very anthemic, it has this weird gay robot space tribunal vibe.

I'm intrigued, to be sure. Hm!

i'm sure there's a connection between Alcazar and Army Of Lovers in that one of the producers was involved in both - anyone know for sure?

DISCLAIMER:

No one has said 'camp', 'trash' or 'feeble' yet.

They should have.

In some ways it is very good, but in others very bad. They cancel each other out resulting in average.

If anyone mentions 'ironic enjoyment' I will kill them. Or at the very least throw a hissy fit.

"Sexual Guarantee", "Crying At The Discotheque", "The Bells of Alcazar"... THESE GUYS ARE BRILLIANT.

I wish my town had a 92.7 Party. You'd think LA would.

Arthur (Arthur), Tuesday, 21 January 2003 20:34 (twenty-three years ago)

cool; thanks, Chuck

'Transmetropolis'on the album is also worth checking out, I love Alcazar.

no-one has mentioned that the song samples
'my forbidden lover' by chic. yep, 'sexual guarantee' and
'crying...' were but 2highs of 2001. the album was only okayish.
didn't they have the same svengali behind them as
army of lovers ?

I saw this track's video last year. I really fancied that redhead in it. Phwoar.

Did anyone notice how much "Crying At The Discotheque" is a complete ripoff of Plaything "Into Space (Spacer House Mix)"? Not only does it have the same "Spacer" sample (that's pretty obvious of course), but the rhythm track & production is identical.

I think the two songs are ok when they came on the radio but there's discoey pop stuff I love much more, it's a bit hackneyed. Also the voice at the start of Crying At The Discotheque sounds like Larry Gogan, this Irish DJ who does the oldies show on one of the crap radio stations. I never could get past the thought of him saying "let the rhythm take you high" in his hawaiian shirt.
