Would it be a fair assumption to ask if the new hillbilly movement in rock'n'roll has taken on new meaning with the advent of a war? i.e. A return to simplier times?

No, because Antifolk is as far removed from "hillbilly" lifestyle as possible: ie, being drawn almost exclusively from New York City, songs dealing with mainly urban concerns (television, heroin), and, indeed, are somewhat depoliticised (the closest the movement has come to anything directly political, as far as I can remember, would be Dufus' "Hillary Clinton").

Are Yorkstone and the Goats even Antifolk, anyway? They seem more... folk than antifolk.

Antifolk itself is more folk than antifolk.

But aha, it is I... ANTIANTIFOLK, here to foil your plans to outfolk everyone else!

Folking folk.

I don't give a folk!

Though I like the irony of a return to simpler times being inspired by a Coen Brothers movie more so than antifolk.
