Walking through town with the walkman on and not being sure if that weird droning noise in your left ear is Jason Pierce "fuckin' it' your head" or an ONCOMING CAR! Classc or Dud?

Listening to Beastie Boys or Public Enemy while riding your bike and wearing headphones and hearing the siren-samples and stopping suddenly and looking around for cops/ambulances/fire-trucks...TOTALLY FARKIN DUD.

When I first listened to Wu Tang's "In The Hood" (that the right title?) on headphones while out walking I kept being fooled by the fire trucks in the track.

Classic. Half the reason I still give Jason Pierce the time of day, despite his defrocked prophet status.

The skit right before "Area Codes" on Word of Mouf; close-miked cellphone ring panned all the way left, it sounds like it's just BEHIND your left ear so when it's on headphones I'm out, right, on the subway or whatever and haha I always wind up for a big angry glare to my left - when I remember.

my dad has a great story about listening to Innervisions in college and by the time he realized that the sirens in "Livin' For The City" were on the record, he'd already flushed all the weed down the toilet.

whispering on songs, like on Songs For The Deaf, is freaky too. I always think someone's trying to get my attention on the bus. Dud. Like when a phone rings in a movie, it's just discomforting.

The first track on Flying Saucer Attack's Further inevitable caused friends to ask if a car had just crashed outside.
