I liked this song all right. It was kind of neat and catchy-sounding. It was on my Reader's Poll list from last year. There was no discussion on the board. What did you think?

I'm not sure what to think of Sam yet....I absolutely hated his first single but "Don't walk away Eileen" is MUCH better (although it reminds me of a song that I can't think of...any idea?). I'll have to hear some more of his stuff before making my mind up about him, but it sounds like he's going in the right direction!

I caught the latter half of the song while flipping through some stations in my car. Later, I saw the video on MuchMusic and, I must admit, it's a damn catchy song. Like CretanBull, I'll need to hear it a couple of more times before coming to a firmer opinion, but the song made a good first impression.

I have issues with Sam Roberts. I have similar issues with any claims of Danko Jones supposed greatness. Ian Blurton (and I don't even like Blurtonia) does a much better job at that role. Buy the new Bionic album instead.

Danko Jones sucked when he headlined (!) for Andrew WK. Didn't think it was similar to SR though.

I used to see Danko Jones quite regularly at Call the Office in London during my university days. Back then, I enjoyed their energetic live performances, especially when compared to the dozens of dull indie acts that graced the smallish stage.
But I've never really enjoyed the band's recorded work. I find it very one-dimensional, and the schtick that worked onstage doesn't translate well in the studio.
I dig Bionic though. I've got the band's first record but I haven't yet grabbed number two.

eight years pass...

Seeing him tonight. I think he's way underrated outside of Canada as a rock/pop guy.

ten months pass...

He's still one of my favorites. What Oasis was supposed to be. Listening to a bunch of his songs here:
