Pumping out of someone's car outside as I write ...

sounds a bit Basement Jaxx, beautiful melodic riff, some vocoder vocals, and a guy singing "I don't wanna hurt you, I don't wanna waste your time"

Is it massively famous?

stevem (blueski), Tuesday, 11 February 2003 11:39 (twenty-three years ago)

first neumann is serge santiago-atto del amore (or some similar title) on arcabaleno (spelling?)

that last one is infuriating, I have it I think. it's 3 or 4 years old.

Ronan, Saturday, 2 February 2008 11:30 (eighteen years ago)

that last one is a Kompakt Speicher I think, I know I played it loads when it was out, great tune! it's going to be bugging me all day now as I can literally remember it note for note start to finish but not whose track it is

Ronan, Saturday, 2 February 2008 11:46 (eighteen years ago)

HEEEEEEEELP

looking for a song ... it could either be a deep house or nu-disco thing ... all i remember is that it's more or less just a bassline and a sample of an old jazz dude saying "another song ... this is ... another song" or "another tune" or something like that.

I've been trying to find a quite jolly sounding downtempo tune with a whistled hook and a shuffly beat for ages. Not much to go on. I was in Latvia in the summer, and it was played all the time in bars there, and I've had the hook stuck in my head ever since.

idjut boys my friend. with that in mind you'll find it faster than I will..

blunt, Saturday, 2 February 2008 18:33 (eighteen years ago)

"radio rage", I think

blunt, Saturday, 2 February 2008 18:35 (eighteen years ago)

i knew it was the idjuts ... problem is for me that narrows it down to like 15-20 hours of stuff to listen through!!!

moonship journey to baja, Saturday, 2 February 2008 18:38 (eighteen years ago)

actually you may be describing another track which uses the exact same bass & beat. can't find it just now

blunt, Saturday, 2 February 2008 18:42 (eighteen years ago)

and I don't think it's one of the 16b remixes on GU

blunt, Saturday, 2 February 2008 18:44 (eighteen years ago)

yeah i just listened to radio rage and it's CLOSE but its got the wrong monologue! the track in question also sounds a LOT like "gurner's choice" too ... not sure which it is.

maybe something on RONG, maybe something by ashley beedle, maybe something on nuphonic, i have no idea.

the other clue is that i think i have it on a CD somewhere where it's preceded by a short downtempo track that samples some major-key modal jazz piano and some kind of ecstatic gospel singing. beautiful ballistic brothers type track.

moonship journey to baja, Saturday, 2 February 2008 18:46 (eighteen years ago)

yeah i think the bassline in question is the one from "gurner's choice" but it's NOT "gurner's choice"!

i really really clearly remember some dude going "another tune. this is ... another tune".

moonship journey to baja, Saturday, 2 February 2008 18:47 (eighteen years ago)

I've got maybe up to 4 version of that bassline from diff. producers, possibly including the original it was lifted from.

blunt, Saturday, 2 February 2008 19:22 (eighteen years ago)

be sure to ID all 4 of those for me, OK?

at about 55 mins

Heterocyclic ring ring (LocalGarda), Thursday, 20 December 2012 00:11 (thirteen years ago)

Ok, my turn. I was shopping this afternoon in some lame hipster shop and I heard this filter-y chill house track/edit, pretty and basic but it was bugging me cuz it sampled the intro of (it took me a long time to place the sample source btw). The song was basically a loop of the first 15 seconds of the intro of the following song... it went on for probably 5+ minutes with some kinda dubby copy/paste and all the usual filter effects. All instrumental (or we walked in at the end of an incredibly long outro):

The keyboards were maybe a little deeper and richer (phased/"wooshier")? The marimba bassline is a little less attack-y (filter house era?), and there's a vintage Kompakt style compressed drum sound (handclap?) pasted in as well. The bass sound is one of those low-freq thumper on the off-beat.

If I were to guess it was perhaps a 5-10 year old edit?
