When you hear it on the dance floor, you think "I'm at a party at a frat-house"

House of Pain - "Jump Around"
Cypress Hill - "Insane in the Brain"

Jody Beth Rosen (Jody Beth Rosen), Sunday, 26 January 2003 08:04 (twenty-three years ago)

Beastie Boys: "Intergalactic" or "Sure Shot" or "Sabotage" or...well, lots of Beastie Boys songs
Run-D.M.C.: "Walk This Way" (a frat-boy Road to Damascus of sorts)
Tone-Loc: "Wild Thing"
Digital Underground: "The Humpty Dance"
AC/DC: "Back in Black"
Missy Elliott: "Work It" (fast approaching this status!)

The house where I work (it's a house converted to offices) is next door to a frat house. Friday afternoons get er interesting. Lately they've been listening to a lot of Dave Matthews and yelling along to the "What would you say" part. Chills me to the bone.

Amateurist (amateurist), Sunday, 26 January 2003 09:34 (twenty-three years ago)

Kid Rock, "Bawitdaba"
Blur, "Song 2"

Mr. Diamond (diamond), Sunday, 26 January 2003 10:29 (twenty-three years ago)

I like almost all of the songs I mentioned--"it's great" has nothing to do with this

M Matos (M Matos), Sunday, 26 January 2003 10:32 (twenty-three years ago)

I almost played "Back in Black" tonight. But I went with that Beck/"Highway to Hell" bootleg. Ultimate white gay boy party 2003!!! Except it was a mixed crowd.

Arthur (Arthur), Sunday, 26 January 2003 11:14 (twenty-three years ago)

this thread offends me, now you must pay!

stevem (blueski), Sunday, 26 January 2003 17:06 (twenty-three years ago)

Frat Parties?

WAY TOO MUCH DAVE GOD DAMN MATTHEWS BAND

nickalicious (nickalicious), Sunday, 26 January 2003 17:11 (twenty-three years ago)

one of our radio stations plays at least 3 songs off Licensed to Ill EVERY DAY. inexcusable

ron (ron), Sunday, 26 January 2003 18:19 (twenty-three years ago)

Enter Sandman.

Curtis Stephens, Sunday, 26 January 2003 18:26 (twenty-three years ago)

The Chronic. Not that it devalues the album any blah blah etc.

(Licensed to Ill is only the second-best Beastie Boys album with the word "Ill" in the title. It is also less enjoyable for me than the Country Mike album.)

Nate Patrin (Nate Patrin), Sunday, 26 January 2003 18:41 (twenty-three years ago)

No Doctors.

hstencil, Sunday, 26 January 2003 18:43 (twenty-three years ago)

Ill looks really dumb in Arial, it makes me want to see Licensed to IV: The Final Chapter

ron (ron), Sunday, 26 January 2003 18:55 (twenty-three years ago)

"It Takes Two": obviously great, tho.

scott pl. (scott pl.), Sunday, 26 January 2003 18:59 (twenty-three years ago)

Here in Texas, you get a whole lotta Jerry Jeff Walker and Robert Earl Keen. I seriously doubt that even thouse rednecks would approve of the kind of racism these frat guys are single-handedly keeping alive.

Kenan Hebert, Sunday, 26 January 2003 19:18 (twenty-three years ago)

Bob Marley, Legend. The sound of this disc was inescapable during a stroll around the dorms during my freshman year of '99.

Famous Athlete, Sunday, 26 January 2003 20:11 (twenty-three years ago)

Oh, and "Back that Azz Up" by Juvenile for sure.
