Bloody Hell - possibly even better the 'It's What I Go To School For'!

Busted showed up the Libertines as boring retro twits on Friday's TOTP, and as for The Flaming Lips - worst and most pointless TOTP performance ever?

Dr. C (Dr. C), Sunday, 26 January 2003 10:36 (twenty-three years ago)

I found it difficult to decide which out of Flaming Lips, Busted, Sneddon, Feeder or the Libertines I detested the most. I think Busted just shaded it. Bedingfield was good. That song is great, even in an
acoustic version.

Ronan (Ronan), Sunday, 26 January 2003 16:05 (twenty-three years ago)

jel -- (jel), Sunday, 26 January 2003 16:20 (twenty-three years ago)

I AM NOT TENSE YOU BASTARD!!!

mark s (mark s), Sunday, 26 January 2003 16:23 (twenty-three years ago)

I prefer the shrews to busted any day. even if they make an fa cup song I reckon I'd prefer it. Even? No, ESPECIALLY.

Ronan (Ronan), Sunday, 26 January 2003 16:27 (twenty-three years ago)

i'm vaguely (and by that i mean not REALLY) interested if there are any Busted fans that don't like Good Charlotte...what makes one fun and the other dung?

stevem (blueski), Sunday, 26 January 2003 16:56 (twenty-three years ago)

good charlotte haven't been on totp while i wasn't watching emmerdale and/or robot wars

mark s (mark s), Sunday, 26 January 2003 18:11 (twenty-three years ago)

I've turned into Ernie Wise, haven't I?

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Sunday, 26 January 2003 19:51 (twenty-three years ago)

Ronan obviously hasn't hear the Les Rythm Digitales remix of year 3000 or he wouldn't be so down on them.

Billy Dods (Billy Dods), Sunday, 26 January 2003 20:09 (twenty-three years ago)

''and as for The Flaming Lips - worst and most pointless TOTP performance ever?''

well, can you tell me what was so pointless abt it?

(I didn't watch TOTP and i haven't for a long time anyway)

and can you really judge what was best or worst because some mime to a backing tape no?

Julio Desouza (jdesouza), Sunday, 26 January 2003 20:19 (twenty-three years ago)

(passantino's revenge = 4-nil to chelsea)

mark s (mark s), Sunday, 26 January 2003 20:30 (twenty-three years ago)

good charlotte just don't have any vocal muscle as far as I can teel. No hook = no fun.

jel -- (jel), Sunday, 26 January 2003 20:32 (twenty-three years ago)

Michael "busted are arse" is very constructive.

Ronan (Ronan), Sunday, 26 January 2003 22:10 (twenty-three years ago)

God, has everyone forgotten just how godamn annoying the boys in sk00l were who thought that a teacher fancied them? Busted make me wanna throw stuff at the TV, "Year 3000" might just be even worse than the atrocious first single. The line "and your great great great grand daughter is pretty fine" alone makes them the most punchable band of the year.

Daniel_Rf (Daniel_Rf), Sunday, 26 January 2003 23:33 (twenty-three years ago)

well, can you tell me what was so pointless abt it?

Well it may have generated zero additional sales for the record. Of
course I can't prove that but it wouldn't surprise me.

David (David), Monday, 27 January 2003 00:29 (twenty-three years ago)

As I think both Busted and Good Charlotte are about as appealing as days-old slabs of salmon wrapped around a rotten egg left to dry in the sun, I have no problem with ignoring them both these days.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Monday, 27 January 2003 04:06 (twenty-three years ago)

I haven't heard Busted. Jesus, Ned you got nothing better to do than bait me all night. You're like somebody following Billy Corgan with a steaming bowl of shit. How is he supposed to get his work done with someone offering him his favorite meal?

heee heee.

Anthony Miccio (Anthony Miccio), Monday, 27 January 2003 04:09 (twenty-three years ago)

I haven't heard Busted.

I'd say you were lucky, but you have to decide on your own.

Jesus, Ned you got nothing better to do than bait me all night.

Actually, I *really* should get some dishwashing done...

Ned Raggett (Ned), Monday, 27 January 2003 04:15 (twenty-three years ago)

David H - yes Bedingfield IS good.

I like mark s's Iron Law Of Pop. Perhaps I could propose an extension - if it irritates Dom P, Alex in NYC and and alex in Mainhattan it is de facto the *best record ever made*

Dr. C (Dr. C), Monday, 27 January 2003 09:23 (twenty-three years ago)

has everyone forgotten just how godamn annoying the boys in sk00l were who thought that a teacher fancied them
which was pretty much *all* the boys, which would make them all annoying....hey, wait a minute....

MarkH (MarkH), Monday, 27 January 2003 11:25 (twenty-three years ago)

This is great, like post-grunge gone spectacularly pop -- the new "Steal My Sunshine" by Len!

Sterling Clover (s_clover), Monday, 27 January 2003 17:52 (twenty-three years ago)

I thought you were complimenting the song.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Monday, 27 January 2003 17:59 (twenty-three years ago)

Len are like ten gazillion times better than Busted. You don't see Busted making Synth-Pop songs with German guys singing about being alone with their computer (haha, LEN = PROTO-ELECTROCLASH!!)

Daniel_Rf (Daniel_Rf), Tuesday, 28 January 2003 00:36 (twenty-three years ago)

SECOND IRON LAW OF POP:

Mark S is a big softie who likes everything! ;-)
