donut bitch (donut), Thursday, 30 January 2003 04:05 (twenty-three years ago)

sounds horrible

electric sound of jim (electricsound), Thursday, 30 January 2003 04:10 (twenty-three years ago)

no it was really good!

gareth (gareth), Thursday, 30 January 2003 04:27 (twenty-three years ago)

is it by anyone connected with the Droyds? something on God Made Me Hardcore perhaps?

electric sound of jim (electricsound), Thursday, 30 January 2003 04:27 (twenty-three years ago)

it's by sonovac (aka midnight mike who records for output and is one of thee biggest cramps fans in the world). i'd say it's a lot more electrotrash than electrocash.

stirmonster, Thursday, 30 January 2003 09:57 (twenty-three years ago)

ignore that completely - i have just woken up and mis read it as 'human fly'.

an electrocash version of 'i am the fly' does sound horrible.

i meant to ask this question too! it was great!

yeah i felt a bit stupid when you asked me what it was last night and i was like "it's a wire song" and then realised you already knew that. oops.

toby (tsg20), Thursday, 30 January 2003 14:12 (twenty-three years ago)

its adamski!!!!!

crossover & adamsky (new spelling)

gareth (gareth), Thursday, 30 January 2003 14:20 (twenty-three years ago)

i think this is a good idea! every wire song should have a corresponding electroclash version

geeta (geeta), Thursday, 30 January 2003 14:24 (twenty-three years ago)

i totally want to hear fischerspooner do outdoor miner.

actually i want to hear them doing the entire wire back catalogue. at least up to 1979 or so.

toby (tsg20), Thursday, 30 January 2003 14:29 (twenty-three years ago)

kidney bingos as done by ladytron, with each nonsensical half-line swapping between deadpan vocalists and panned hard left/right! YES! this must happen... or maybe lcd soundsystem would do it better? "money, spines-uhh, paper lung - kidney bingos? organ FUNNN?! huh!" [sound of drumkit falling downstairs] etc

(re actual thread topic, i have no idea, as per)

Arf! Crossover! They are like the Trio of Gigolos, and the ratio of booklet glamor shots to, like, album content is possibly the best thing about them.

nabisco (nabisco), Thursday, 30 January 2003 16:39 (twenty-three years ago)

I think the original Wire song was great, and really dont like the idea of a cover song in the style of a new hip genre.

David Allen, Thursday, 30 January 2003 18:24 (twenty-three years ago)

yeah it was adam sky (ex adamski)
go to www.adam-sky.com

he did a mix on XFM, and
the wire cover is down
as being by revulva.

piscesboy, Thursday, 30 January 2003 19:06 (twenty-three years ago)

i wished i had realised it was by revulva before slsk went down:(

gareth (gareth), Thursday, 6 February 2003 13:15 (twenty-three years ago)

I think Wire should repay the compliment and cover something from Adam's back catalogue - like "Babysitters" maybe.
