Well? Both relatively cheap in Virgin, and I am tempted.

the bees is so so so so so good.

interpol didn't do it for me.

Sean@tangmonkey (Sean M), Friday, 31 January 2003 10:34 (twenty-three years ago)

INTERPOL IS THE GREATEST BAND OF THE LAST FIVE YEARS

(note: no they're not, actually. They're just pretty damned good. But pre-emptive measures must be taken against ILM Kneejerk Indie-Hype Hate.)

Nate Patrin (Nate Patrin), Friday, 31 January 2003 12:14 (twenty-three years ago)

Give in to that temptation Nick, you know it makes sense.

Stewart Osborne (Stewart Osborne), Friday, 31 January 2003 13:30 (twenty-three years ago)

Right. Well. I got;

Interpol.
Bees.
Loose Fur.
Genius/Gza - Liquid Swords.

I am so weak.

Nick Southall (Nick Southall), Friday, 31 January 2003 13:51 (twenty-three years ago)

Getting music = not weak.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Friday, 31 January 2003 13:52 (twenty-three years ago)

It is when one doesn't earn much! Emma's gonna tell me off. I said I'd get two at the most.

Nick Southall (Nick Southall), Friday, 31 January 2003 14:11 (twenty-three years ago)

so weak, so so weak

emma (Nick Southall), Friday, 31 January 2003 14:43 (twenty-three years ago)

ARGH! I'm still at work and she's telling me off!

Nick Southall (Nick Southall), Friday, 31 January 2003 14:44 (twenty-three years ago)

Bees sounds fucking good thus far.

Nick Southall (Nick Southall), Friday, 31 January 2003 14:56 (twenty-three years ago)

Beta Band meets Kingsbury Manx via a really nice reggae groove with occasioanl touches of slinky blues guitar. I like this lots.

Nick Southall (Nick Southall), Friday, 31 January 2003 15:00 (twenty-three years ago)

And now some really gentle, floating jazz piano. Man, this is good.

Nick Southall (Nick Southall), Friday, 31 January 2003 15:03 (twenty-three years ago)

TRUMPETS! I'm in heaven now.

Nick Southall (Nick Southall), Friday, 31 January 2003 15:07 (twenty-three years ago)

Now it's finished and Nick is sad.

Nick Southall (Nick Southall), Friday, 31 January 2003 15:12 (twenty-three years ago)

God, talking to myself and in the third person. God I'm sad. It's 'cos I'm cataloguing made-for-tv Russian romantic comedies from the 70's.

Nick Southall (Nick Southall), Friday, 31 January 2003 15:16 (twenty-three years ago)

There there.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Friday, 31 January 2003 16:15 (twenty-three years ago)

Take this lollipop and go to the third padded room on the left, my boy.

andy, Friday, 31 January 2003 17:03 (twenty-three years ago)

Sounds like I might like the Bees, but is there any of that annoying, cheeky, cheesy lyrics like w/Beta Band?

andy, Friday, 31 January 2003 17:06 (twenty-three years ago)

The Bees' lyrics are largely nonsense, but of the non-grating kind. I haven't noticed them as being either good or bad, just fitting in with the music well.
