No one's heard this yet? Download it now.

I've heard it! I love it! The background music is GEENIUS! It was for me one of those songs that you hear on the radio and then you have to try to remember some of the lyrics in order to find out what it is.

So weird... I was planning on starting a thread on this song today (I probably wouldn't have ended up doing it, but I was planning on it).

Dan I. (Dan I.), Thursday, 13 February 2003 02:20 (twenty-three years ago)

When you're listening to the radio you have to be careful to not let it slip under your radar. I can see how someone could hear the singing and then tune out completely before that crazy hand-slapping beat kicks in. Plus the "Gangster whine" is always welcome in whatever form it takes.

Dan I. (Dan I.), Thursday, 13 February 2003 02:22 (twenty-three years ago)

It makes me want to dance more.

Chris V. (Chris V), Thursday, 13 February 2003 13:12 (twenty-three years ago)

everyone will be talking about it on here in a month. just like truth hurts.

Chris V. (Chris V), Thursday, 13 February 2003 13:25 (twenty-three years ago)

it's on the Diwali rhythm:

the Wayne Wonder track sounds too r'n'b for me, but some of the other cuts on it are great

michael (michael), Thursday, 13 February 2003 13:40 (twenty-three years ago)

I have to get that version of it. It's, like, way longer.

J0rdan S., Sunday, 11 May 2008 19:47 (eighteen years ago)

hated this at the time. have no idea why

The Reverend, Sunday, 11 May 2008 22:46 (eighteen years ago)

i'll put you down for 'no' then

J0rdan S., Sunday, 11 May 2008 23:20 (eighteen years ago)

it's good, but it's not even the best song on diwali, let alone the best summer jam or best wayne wonder song

The Brainwasher, Sunday, 11 May 2008 23:23 (eighteen years ago)

Needs a TS with "Turn Me On"

Dom Passantino, Sunday, 11 May 2008 23:24 (eighteen years ago)

Yeah, I like Lumidee's "Never Leave You" more than this. Not by much, but still.

Noodle Vague, Sunday, 11 May 2008 23:24 (eighteen years ago)

funny then that this thread never took off
TS: Kevin Lyttle "Turn Me On" vs. Lumidee "Never Leave You (Uh Oh)"

J0rdan S., Sunday, 11 May 2008 23:25 (eighteen years ago)

Yeah, "Get Busy", too. xp

The Reverend, Sunday, 11 May 2008 23:26 (eighteen years ago)

whats the similiarty between the two? they aren't even the same genre

The Brainwasher, Sunday, 11 May 2008 23:26 (eighteen years ago)

between "turn me on" and "never leave you"? um i was thinking about them on the same day basically

J0rdan S., Sunday, 11 May 2008 23:27 (eighteen years ago)

Sarge, that's because the comparison doesn't quite make sense. (Whereas both "Never Leave You" vs "No Letting Go" and "Turn Me On" vs "No Letting Go" make sense.)

The Reverend, Sunday, 11 May 2008 23:27 (eighteen years ago)

i had no idea that the infallible ilx game "taking sides" needed to make complete mathematical sense to everyone on the board

J0rdan S., Sunday, 11 May 2008 23:29 (eighteen years ago)

i had no idea that the infallible ilx game "taking sides" needed to make complete mathematical sense to everyone on the board

Noodle Vague, Sunday, 11 May 2008 23:30 (eighteen years ago)

feel free to make the rightful taking sides tho

J0rdan S., Sunday, 11 May 2008 23:31 (eighteen years ago)

maybe even a poll!

J0rdan S., Sunday, 11 May 2008 23:31 (eighteen years ago)

it does or else you create shit like those awful alex in nyc ts threads from a while back like random harDCore band vs danity kane zzzzzzzzz

The Reverend, Sunday, 11 May 2008 23:31 (eighteen years ago)

the exception being if you want to include Nate Doff

The Reverend, Sunday, 11 May 2008 23:32 (eighteen years ago)

ugh typo

The Reverend, Sunday, 11 May 2008 23:32 (eighteen years ago)

This song holds a special place in my ipod, largely because of memories it's associated with.

"Bounce Along" also was a total classic.

Tim F, Saturday, 19 March 2011 13:18 (fifteen years ago)

I know it's a very "lol twee cover" but I really love the Taken By Trees version of this, really highlights what a great song it is in itself.

o0o00h really? (boxedjoy), Saturday, 19 March 2011 13:20 (fifteen years ago)

i havent heard that cover but............. do u really need a cover to highlight what a great song it is???

just sayin, Saturday, 19 March 2011 13:26 (fifteen years ago)

Not at all!

Incidentally, in a club last weekend I heard Kevin Lyttle's "Turn Me On" which was a pleasant surprise, its a shame that the moment for this sort of thing has passed.
