Geez that pic comparison is so unfair Orchestra vs THE BOMBER. I feel sorry for P.

Andrew Thames (Andrew Thames), Tuesday, 25 February 2003 14:24 (twenty-three years ago)

What about Radiohead?

Matt DC (Matt DC), Tuesday, 25 February 2003 14:34 (twenty-three years ago)

Basehead.

die9o (dhadis), Tuesday, 25 February 2003 14:49 (twenty-three years ago)

"now then yung man i would av to say that after meself, Portishead win this thread hands dooown"

stevem (blueski), Tuesday, 25 February 2003 15:35 (twenty-three years ago)

This isn't about all those other inferior `heads. Radiohead get way too much respect on ILM, and I refuse to be a party to it.

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Tuesday, 25 February 2003 16:25 (twenty-three years ago)

Motorhead wrote a song for the WWE so that makes them win by default!

Next time Portishead! Next time!

Andrzej B. (Andrzej B.), Tuesday, 25 February 2003 19:41 (twenty-three years ago)

What about Tackhead and Pailhead?

(Clearly the correct answer is PORTISHEAD, BTW.)

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Tuesday, 25 February 2003 19:43 (twenty-three years ago)

This isn't about all those other inferior `heads

S/D: Bands With "Head" In Their Name

S: Buckethead, Motorhead, Portishead, Spearhead, Radiohead, Talking Heads, Screaming Headless Toroes, Machinehead, Basehead, ad nauseum to infinity...

nickalicious (nickalicious), Tuesday, 25 February 2003 20:11 (twenty-three years ago)

I just realized I can't think of any bands with "head" in their name I don't like.

nickalicious (nickalicious), Tuesday, 25 February 2003 20:12 (twenty-three years ago)

Motorhead win on consistency, on quality and on Lemmy.

Bands with head in their name? We've had Motorhead so what about Headgirl? Surely the most obvious one. Duh!

mei (mei), Tuesday, 25 February 2003 20:19 (twenty-three years ago)

Live in NYC is one tremendous record -- better than most concert albums.

christoff (christoff), Tuesday, 25 February 2003 20:23 (twenty-three years ago)

don't forget Headswim, i think they were the new Suede one wet Wednesday in 1998

stevem (blueski), Tuesday, 25 February 2003 21:23 (twenty-three years ago)

I saw poor Headswim open up for Kula Shaker a thousand ice ages ago. Nothing much came of them (Headswim), did it?

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Tuesday, 25 February 2003 23:29 (twenty-three years ago)

Diamondhead!

But |P| by a longshot. Consistency? Dummy and the s/t are from the same double album!

Leee (Leee), Wednesday, 26 February 2003 00:31 (twenty-three years ago)

six years pass...

I'm reviving this just because I like the thread title.

Alex in NYC, Tuesday, 14 April 2009 23:49 (seventeen years ago)

Hahah yeah, this is a pretty crazy versus thread. But did I really just see a Nick Cave vs. Michael Jackson poll the other day? What's next, Kate Bush & Cyndi Lauper? Ouch!

Tonto's Expanding Headband?

Mark G, Wednesday, 15 April 2009 06:29 (seventeen years ago)

don't forget Headswim, i think they were the new Suede one wet Wednesday in 1998

shockingly, their first album ('flood') is actually pretty good - heavy, twisted, grubby psylocibin grunge metal with a strong wicker-man psych underbelly. somewhere between that and the second ('despite yourself') they completely transmuted into a grey and forgettable sub-radiohead/proto-coldplay entity.

ok, let's try that again:

m the g, Wednesday, 15 April 2009 08:54 (seventeen years ago)

I have to say, I must recant my ire towards Radiohead.

Alex in NYC, Wednesday, 15 April 2009 13:53 (seventeen years ago)

well you can still refuse to be a party to the radiohead consensus here, since it's now cool to dislike them

europeen handball (k3vin k.), Wednesday, 15 April 2009 14:07 (seventeen years ago)
