Though Michael Schenker is a bit odd I gotta take him over Malmsteen since I am a bit put off by Malmsteen's orchestrations. The rest of your Group B, surprisingly, is right on line. I suspect that a lot would rate your picks as underdogs going into the match but in the end I believe those choices are the right ones! I am especially impressed by your pick of Tony Bourge. Though almost entirely forgotten these days he produced, in my humble opinion, some of the best licks of his time. Uli seems to me to have had a few too many yoga lessons these days but his playing is pretty good and, as stated rpeviously, a bit underrated... probably because of his connection to German Stadium rockers, Scorpions.Tough... tough one ruling Tony Iommi over J but either way it is very close. I think Steve Perry is also underrated because of his rock star status but pales to the virtusity of George Benson. I believe you made the right choice here. The rest of round one seem to be sound choices as well.I don't think you can really go wrong choosing Jimmie Page but I am sure it was a tough decision. I choose Mr. Page because his songs rock out more. Mr. Beck's playing is often brilliant but his turns to jazz can be walked away from more easily than the thundering yet complicated blows delivered by Mr. Page.I have Uli over BB. Though BB has to be respected for the great body of work he has produced I believe that his age may have slowed him down a tad. With this in mind the speedy yet slick and smooth transitions of Uli's celestial slinging brings him on top in this match.Late stage Black Flag/Gone Ginn was, to me, very similar to Sweet Leaf era Tony Iommi. Because of this I would have to choose Iommi over Ginn though it is another close one. This difference between us, however, is no cause for us to take up arms against each other.Remember that joke about Keith RIchard... you know, the one that goes: what will be the only things living after a nuclear war? Cockaroaches and Keith Richard! I gotta say, though he is a survivor I do not think he could trade licks with Mark Knoppler.Final: Hey! we are in agreement. We took slightly different paths but got to the same place!

I don't think anyone can really go wrong in the end! I think they all can play. There are a lot of different styles represented. Hell, tomorrow, with the same pool of people and different match up the results, for me, could be entirely different!
