Dude, you have to actually install the program. Do a search on your computer for file "slsk", then run the executable that it finds.

is installing the program and downloading it the same thing? I downloaded it successfully, but now there's no trace of it. I should also tell you I know very little about this kind of junk

any help would be appreciated

No, they are not the same thing. I assumed you did not know that, which is why I told you to do a "search file" for the program. Did you do that? It's called "slsk". Just double-click on it when it appears.

getting there, Mr Diamond...it worked - but now it keeps on Not Responding before i can even open it properly. will keep at it - thanks for the help

OK, I get it - the titles in bold are available NOW, the others get Remotely Qeued...how long do they stay Remotely Qued anyway? but yeah, alreday man, the selection on this is great! i'm gonna send that paypal tomorrow morning - does it make a big difference?

roger adultery (roger adultery), Friday, 7 March 2003 03:51 (twenty-three years ago)

No, it's not required at all. It's just a good faith gesture to let them know you enjoy and appreciate the program - it's entirely up to you.

The "Remotely Queued" is going to come up if (1) you're trying to download more than one file from the same person, you have to get them one at a time; or (2) the other person's computer is off. You can still double-click the file; it will just be listed in your transfer window until the person comes back online.

Enjoy!

five years pass...

Has anyone recently noticed a severe diminution of available downloads in the last couple of weeks? Is something going down? I used to be able to find so much stuff, now almost nothing comes up...any info would be greatly appreciated

Yes, definitely. Try checking/switching your port, however.

whether you use ssx or not, you'll need to change the port

elan, Saturday, 27 September 2008 17:32 (seventeen years ago)

Wow, ol' racist Rog was quite the spaz.

jim, Saturday, 27 September 2008 18:05 (seventeen years ago)

Where do I change port if I have the windows version? All those options on slsx are not available on this one. I'm still using the 156 version, for some reason when I try to run 157 versions the program freezes and never connects.
