And, yes, there are a couple of records in the lower regions of my Top 20 that weren't really that melodic. But they were still head music and harmonic enough for me to enjoy them.

Geir Hongro (GeirHong), Saturday, 8 March 2003 21:39 (twenty-three years ago)

radical, dude.

d k (d k), Saturday, 8 March 2003 23:23 (twenty-three years ago)

Is this for reals or is this guy a parody of some sort?

Alex in SF (Alex in SF), Sunday, 9 March 2003 04:22 (twenty-three years ago)

fandango, Monday, 30 April 2007 00:11 (nineteen years ago)

A bit surprised to see that you like that Course of Empire record, Chuck. I picked it up for $.50 somewhere, and really love it. Sadly overlooked album.

Jeff Treppel, Monday, 30 April 2007 00:22 (nineteen years ago)

I turned Chuck on to Course Of Empire! I think. I remember taping "Infested" for him years ago and he liked it. I just couldn't get over that song though. and nothing on that album, though i like it, reaches those heights.

scott seward, Monday, 30 April 2007 00:40 (nineteen years ago)

Crazy Town and Course Of Empire. You can see why we get along so well.

scott seward, Monday, 30 April 2007 00:41 (nineteen years ago)

I found their way way way OOP self-titled debut in a cut out bin at a Warehouse. It's pretty great. I used to see Initiation for like a buck at parking lot sales all the time, but I didn't know that I liked Course of Empire back then, and the stores that had the sales went out of business. I've only seen it once since, and that was for five bucks, and I refuse to pay more than a couple dollars for it because of general stubbornness. I don't know what that has to do with anything, but Course of Empire are cool.

Jeff Treppel, Monday, 30 April 2007 01:03 (nineteen years ago)

i wanna hear that debut now! and i kinda want to hear the third album too.

the update on their website is from 2004

J Edgar Noothgrush (Joan Crawford Loves Chachi), Sunday, 18 August 2024 22:22 (one year ago)

i spent all my money on rent+utilities/beer/cheesesteak/records. i spent any extra money i had on records and CDs. philly was a good place to have no money though. i was working at the korean deli so i got free breakfast and lunch which was cool. and i could get stuff there on credit.

scott seward, Sunday, 18 August 2024 22:25 (one year ago)

then i 1999 i started getting fat village voice checks! whoohoo! i didn't even have a bank account. i would have my girlfriend at the time cash them for me at her bank.

scott seward, Sunday, 18 August 2024 22:26 (one year ago)

no bank account. no driver's license. no health insurance. paid in cash. i was like the unabomber.
