Peel session comp is unsurprisingly better than the album.

You know, I don't understand this band at all. A long time ago I heard a song on the radio that went "It hurts/oh and it hurts..." and I went nuts over it. I believe I subsequently managed to find one of their 12"es however everything I've heard since then failed to grip me. I'm left with a lingering feeling of lost potential.

Ohh I like them unreservedly and can't work out why the rest of you are dragging your feet with the LE loving. They had a really strong 'persona' and thats not something you can have a long career for, but it can make a great album or two.
Admittedly, the persona could easily irritate (basically, oh for gods sake, so you've read an Andre Gide novella, and seen brideshead revisited on the telly, stop pretending to be overcome with ennui everytime you have a shag)
However, it didn't irritate me, I like such persona's no matter how preposterous.

"first picture of you" is, like, really good man

First Picture Of You was the song that came on the taxi radio on the night i did my first ever pill, literally just as it was kicking in. Couldn't have planned it better.

i bought the expanded cd reissue of their lone 80s album and i think it's kinda sorta an underrated lost classic. that's probs just me tho.

Their reunion album, "Silentspace", is shockingly good.
