Once, when I was but a wee lad, my friend and mentor Nate held up the Beatles Sergeant Pepper and the Sex Pistols Never Mind the Bollocks and declared in a stentorian voice that the answer to all musical questions existed in a perfect synthesis of the two. That both records were both a wonderful disease to which the other was the even more wonderful cure.
I thought he was high on something other than life.
But Lo, I have come down from the mountain and have seen the glory.
The real pivot point exists not between SgtPepper and Bollocks...it exists between this:

Bow down before the greatness of the perfect formula...
   or
      Prove
         Me
            Wrong!

(i'm ex-sus-pecting Raggett to come raging in inna minute with the answer that, i'm ex-sus-pecting, will point out for us all which exact MBValentine song exhausts Gwar and Enya and IceT, like, eeeasily)

t\'\'t (t\'\'t), Monday, 17 March 2003 01:04 (twenty-three years ago)

actually i would have said Enya + MBV = Slowdive

electric sound of jim (electricsound), Monday, 17 March 2003 01:05 (twenty-three years ago)

Enya + Ice-T == Neneh Cherry
Enya + GWAR == MBV
GWAR + Ice-T == Anthrax

Enya * GWAR == Cocteau Twins
GWAR * Ice-T == Geto Boys
Ice-T * Enya == ??

one year passes...
This question still requires answering.
Does any of the nu-nu-nu-ILM crowd want to take a crack at it?

seven months pass...
the Ice-T factor = the anemic drum-machine beats on Loveless, and I claim my five dollars.
