Those tracks, you know the ones

Those songs you heard in a shop and had to ask what it was, had to search for online and would not rest till you got your own copy, you bought the album especially for that song, you requested it on MTV, you filled up half a C90 with that song on repeat and listened to it all week, you put it on every mixtape you made for six months. YOu're probably blue in the face with the song and can't listen to it anymore. But still these are the songs that shaped you. Currently, they may not even be your favourite song by that artist or you may even dislike the artist now (see Elliott Smith), but there was that obsession. What are these songs? What do they say about you?
What do these say about me?
Do I have good taste or do these choices suck donkeys?

(For sake of argument and to stop people putting every song by their fave band, let's limit it to one song per artist. Also this list may span your whole musical lifetime or just one period in your life. This list comes from about 1994 onwards).

Forall itscoffee table connotations, Moon Safari is a pretty great record end-to-end, and stevem picked my other fave track higher up. I remember driving along the coast when I heard this record first, mid summer, with the roof down.... and it sounded absolutely amazing.

Strange video, tho.
