are you a picker or a strummer?

all hail the rhythm guitar artistry of Lou Reed ("What Goes On"), David Byrne ("Found a Job"), Mark Robinson... Rhythm is underrated.

By who?

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Monday, 17 March 2003 18:06 (twenty-three years ago)

I do furiously air guitar to rhythm guitar, tho.

Sam Jeffries (samjeff), Monday, 17 March 2003 18:06 (twenty-three years ago)

yeah, well see, I think I'm more likely to get caught up in the rhythm than necessarily the whole noodling thing.

Plus you can only really air-guitar convincingly to the lead if you know the song dead cold, solo(s) and all.

Extremely hard choice!
I find it much easier to lip synch when doing rhythm air guitar but I can get the most wicked facial scowls out when doing lead.

SUBTHREAD:

anyone seeing air drums overtaking air guitar at the top spot? i saw my daughter doing air drums the other day to something she was listening to on her walkaround cd player.

Lead: "Free Bird" or "Tuesday's Gone"
Rhythm: "Sweet Home Alabma" or "Saturday Night Special"

Rhythm: "Kennedy" by the Wedding Present or "Cretin Hop" by the Ramones

you can get more physical when you play air guitar rhythm, but you will not get stank-face solo histronics nearly as often. Think about that stupid ass look Carlos "washedup" Santana gets on his face when he lays down yet another blistering solo on the latest Matchbox 20 jam that is keeping his career on Life-support.

man, I am awfully salty today.
