There have got to be more than this ...

Meet the Beatles (Beatles)
Guts (John Cale)
Bloody Nonsense (Jazz Butcher)
Metal & Shells (Go-Betweens)
The Pink Opaque (Cocteau Twins)

.. The "Introducing what UK(US) kids have known for years, now's your chance to get hip" records that are quite good on their own merit .. and in fact, may be better than the originals because of what's NOT included ...

I'm talking about bands that were introduced to the States (or alternately to the UK) with records that were kind of "greatest hits" packages of bands that were already successful in the UK (US.) ..

Where the original records were not released domestically.. but a compilation of the first 2 or 3 was released to conjure up interest.

Paradise Motel's first UK release was a comp of their first couple of Aust-released EPs and some of their debut Aussie LP. A similar situation occurred with the Cardigans' Life (which featured songs from 2 or 3 of their Swedish-released LPs)

I think everybody was confused at first by the thread title, since there's STILL never been a Meatls compilation, despite the rarity of so many of their releases.

one year passes...
Cult-avant-tech-slam-pop crew, The Meatls are ready with a new single, Tch Tch Hse, from forthcoming album ‘To Litl Meatl’. Songwriter/producer Bournt Flec: “The early part of this new century have seen a period of compression; we think people are now ready too be provoked-up again.”

The Meatls have been absorbing the current wave of German electronica. Vocalist Aaaras Goëdenshurn III: “We don’t doubt our earlier records have been a very large influence on the current Cologne and Berlin sounds. It’s not much a secret Bournt’s revolutionary techniques in production in the late 80s have influenced massively that scene. DJing at a Bpitch Control event in Berlin recently, partying with Ellen Allien afterwards, she told me she loved all the new stuff too.”

Live electronic percussionist Sharna: “I guess you can now say there is a bit from The Meatls in microhouse, there is now a little bit from microhouse in the Meatls!”

‘Tch Tch Hse’ is released on the 12th of June, followed with ‘To Litl Meatl’ on the 5th of July.

Is this up on slsk yet?
