Are its 13 1/2 nylon strings all tuned to nonsensical pitches?
Is it powered by a crank handle?
Is played with a cello bow and a plastic mallet?
Is cooled with copper pipes filled with lime jello?
Well, then...tell us about it.

wasn't there an early Anthony Braxton piece that was scored for (among other instruments) an 'amplified', or 'electrified', shovel ...?
mmm, 'm pretty sure the piece was Braxton's, however have no idea whether the shovel was or wasn't supposed to be 'prepared' in any specific manner

I went to a concert last week end where a small green plastic watering can was played alongside a collection a elaborate and beautiful-looking Greek and Middle Eastern instruments.

Some random instro surf band in the mid-90s (might have been the Boss Martians, I forget) had an old Fender Deluxe Reverb amplifier bolted onto some old truck springs which were in turn bolted onto a large metal plate. Nothing was plugged into the amp, but it mic'ed up and turned on.

Once the band started playing, it all made sense. The amp was there only so the guitarist could kick the side of it to get a wonderfully excessive "reverb-spring crash" sound.
