so, sonar 2003 is right around the corner. anyone been? anyone going? anyone have any "insider" tips/information for a first time sonar-goer (not to mention it's my first visit to barcelona, and spain)?

am i crazy as an american for going alone what with the Current Situation and all? all my friends have neither 1. time or 2. money to attend. kind of sucks but this will be my first international trip alone which is exciting as well.

can't wait to catch the smalltown supersound and mego showcases.

tips for north americans - tickets are hella cheap via iberia right now, around $500 r/t from nyc (or so they were a week ago when i booked mine).

tip: give yourself a good several days in advance to explore barcelona if you haven't been before, because you won't have a second during the fest itself. and don't, whatever you do, book a ticket leaving monday after the festival, or you'll still be drunk (or otherwise altered) when you catch it. there are usually pretty good afterparties monday night, anyway, so it's worth staying.
