"Wannabe"
"Naked"
"Stop"

title connections.

Jody Beth Rosen (Jody Beth Rosen), Friday, 28 March 2003 14:01 (twenty-three years ago)

"Goodbye" purely for the backing vocals in the chorus.

Lynskey (Lynskey), Friday, 28 March 2003 14:06 (twenty-three years ago)

Oh Ally, what was the one that ripped off "Ansaphone"? That was a good one too.

Nicole (Nicole), Friday, 28 March 2003 14:24 (twenty-three years ago)

10 is a lot for a band that only released 3 albums isnt it? oh wait you're including the solo stuff yeh?

the 5 i tolerate the most:
1 say you'll be there
2 spice up your life
3 things will never be the same again
4 too much
5 who do you think you are

stevem (blueski), Friday, 28 March 2003 14:26 (twenty-three years ago)

i just need to pick one, and it's two become one.

A Nairn (moretap), Friday, 28 March 2003 14:32 (twenty-three years ago)

Oh Ally, what was the one that ripped off "Ansaphone"?

Um, wasn't that Naked? It was on the first album. I'd have to listen to it again but I don't actually own the album.

We can include solo stuff right?

Spice Up Your Life
Who Do You Think You Are
Look At Me
I Turn To You
Goodbye
Wannabe
Naked
That one where Geri raps like Tricky, it was a b-side to Wannabe
Say You'll Be There
If U Can't Dance

Ally (mlescaut), Friday, 28 March 2003 14:45 (twenty-three years ago)

The live version of "If U Can't Dance" = classic

dave q, Friday, 28 March 2003 15:18 (twenty-three years ago)

That's just too many to pick from such a short-lasting fad. However, "Stop", "Viva Forever", "Say You'll Be There", "Who Do You Think You Are" and "Mama" were all quite good.

Geir Hongro (GeirHong), Friday, 28 March 2003 15:20 (twenty-three years ago)

"Mama"??????

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Friday, 28 March 2003 15:35 (twenty-three years ago)

I also think that "Holler" was a lot better than people gave it credit for. With hindsight it's a pretty good record.

Lynskey (Lynskey), Friday, 28 March 2003 15:53 (twenty-three years ago)

Too Much
Who Do You Think You Are?
Outer Space Girls (B-side to Too Much)
Say You'll Be There
Stop
Wannabe
Naked
Never Give Up On The Good Times
Word Up (Yes. I am serious.)
Scream If You Wanna Go Faster

edward o (edwardo), Friday, 28 March 2003 18:44 (twenty-three years ago)

I also think that "Holler" was a lot better than people gave it credit for.

No, it wasn't. It sounded like Destiny's Child, Craig David and Aaliyah. And it was crap, just like Destiny's Child, Craig David and Aaliyah

Geir Hongro (GeirHong), Friday, 28 March 2003 18:45 (twenty-three years ago)

"Holler" was flat-out hilarious. I mean, I know they were known for lyrical nonsense, but that song was just above and beyond (in a good way).

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Friday, 28 March 2003 18:47 (twenty-three years ago)

Destiny's Child, Craig David and Aaliyah

saviours of the pop charts!

stevem (blueski), Friday, 28 March 2003 18:51 (twenty-three years ago)

I was gonna have a go at this. Then I saw that someone had listed 'Never Give Up On The Good Times'. It reminded me that these exercises, once you get past the terrific singles, are just about itemising the so so-so.

Eyeball Kicks (Eyeball Kicks), Friday, 28 March 2003 18:58 (twenty-three years ago)

Destiny's Child, Craig David and Aaliyah
saviours of the pop charts!

Absolutely not. They are the worst things to have happened to the pop charts since hip-hop

Geir Hongro (GeirHong), Friday, 28 March 2003 19:14 (twenty-three years ago)

"Out of Your Mind" is my favorite spice solo outing.

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Friday, 28 March 2003 19:15 (twenty-three years ago)

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Friday, 28 March 2003 19:35 (twenty-three years ago)

There's a whole world out there to discover, Alex. Honor the Spice Rack!

Nicole (Nicole), Friday, 28 March 2003 19:54 (twenty-three years ago)

I can't think of one I want to pick......

brg30 (brg30), Saturday, 29 March 2003 00:30 (twenty-three years ago)

stevem (blueski), Saturday, 29 March 2003 00:31 (twenty-three years ago)

James Blount (James Blount), Saturday, 29 March 2003 00:50 (twenty-three years ago)

MY WEBSITE WAS THE SPICE RACK FUCK YOU ALL FUXORS.

Scream if You Wanna Go Faster IS a terrific song. I like the bit where she goes "have a nice day as Americans say". Who are these Americans, cos I don't know them. They sound nice though.

Ally (mlescaut), Saturday, 29 March 2003 20:38 (twenty-three years ago)

Who gives a flying frig of a fuck about the Spice Girls?

Evan (Evan), Saturday, 29 March 2003 20:43 (twenty-three years ago)

fuck this bullshit. Spice Girls were crap.

Anthony Miccio (Anthony Miccio), Saturday, 29 March 2003 20:44 (twenty-three years ago)

What if they collaborated with Good Charlotte?

Ally (mlescaut), Saturday, 29 March 2003 20:49 (twenty-three years ago)

Jesus the site is still there. Wouldn't geocities have deleted it by now?

Ally (mlescaut), Saturday, 29 March 2003 21:16 (twenty-three years ago)

the Spice Girls are the only good thing that happened to British music in the last decade.

Justyn Dillingham (Justyn Dillingham), Sunday, 30 March 2003 08:11 (twenty-three years ago)

I agree completely.

Jody Beth Rosen (Jody Beth Rosen), Sunday, 30 March 2003 09:01 (twenty-three years ago)

(Wait, no I don't... but you know what I mean.)

Jody Beth Rosen (Jody Beth Rosen), Sunday, 30 March 2003 09:02 (twenty-three years ago)

bad things are great

stevem (blueski), Sunday, 30 March 2003 09:11 (twenty-three years ago)

God I'm sick of """"""fun""""""... I like Wannabe, 2 become 1 (I have the video on tape from somewhere, I like the SG) and I guess some other tracks. Who Do You Think You Are looked like a parody first time I saw it.

Andrew Thames (Andrew Thames), Sunday, 30 March 2003 09:25 (twenty-three years ago)

Yep. I like Wannabe and Stop, can't think of any others I like as much as those two.

Elisabeth (Elisabeth), Sunday, 30 March 2003 10:56 (twenty-three years ago)

God I forgot Stop! That's a good one

Andrew Thames (Andrew Thames), Sunday, 30 March 2003 11:09 (twenty-three years ago)

I'm not listing Spice Girls songs because frankly I have better things to be doing(!), however I always thought it was funny that Victoria Beckham was and still is always cited as the least talented of all the band (some considerable feat if you ask me), yet she came out with best single any of them has released since with Trusteppas and Dane Bowers on Out Of Your Mind. This record was an absolute killer and was released about the same time as Squarepusher's My Red Hot Car. Of Course Squarepusher got huge props from the music press for his smirking parody of UK garage, thanks to its incredible production. garnered reviews like "if only all 2step garage sounded like this" by the morons at NME etc when in fact all the same sounds and textures were present in Mrs Beckham's record thanks to Johnny L producing it... funny old world... hope I haven't killed your enjoyment of this thread!

Dave Stelfox, Sunday, 30 March 2003 13:08 (twenty-three years ago)
