I have no idea what Roger Taylor used to get his signature sound, but it was the same sound Bev Bevan of ELO had, and Queen producer Mack was also ELO's engineer in the 70s, so it may have to be with Mack rather than Roger Taylor.

What I do know is that Brian May had his guitar sound from using a coin to stroke the strings.

Geir Hongro (GeirHong), Friday, 28 March 2003 23:47 (twenty-three years ago)

1. "The Prophet Song" - Now, Always & FOREVER!
2. "Death on Two Legs"
3. "Dragon Attack"
4. "Mustapha"
5. "Sheer Heart Attack"
6. "Fight From the Inside"
7. "Now I'm Here"
8. "Bohemian Rhapsody"
9. "Flash"
10. "`39"

three months pass...
"What I do know is that Brian May had his guitar sound from using a coin to stroke the strings."
you make it sound glorious, but i'm sure it was 5% Brian May and 95% pick gnomes.
