I swear I am fully serious. I also swear this is going to be the biggest song ever. Absolutely ever.

YES it says deep dish and puff daddy, a collaboration, an epic dance track which obeys rule number 1 of epic dance tracks in 2003, THEY SHOULD SOUND AS THOUGH THEY ARE 4 GREAT TUNES MIXED SEAMLESSLY TOGETHER. "your dreams have been fulfilled", damn straight they have!

Ronan (Ronan), Saturday, 29 March 2003 22:00 (twenty-three years ago)

yowzers, i like Deep Dish, what about the rumoured Diddy and Darren Emerson collab.?

stevem (blueski), Saturday, 29 March 2003 22:05 (twenty-three years ago)

Can't wait for the instrumental. *flees*

Ned Raggett (Ned), Saturday, 29 March 2003 22:05 (twenty-three years ago)

I am unsure, I still fear this is some kind of joke, but the track get up and get ill definitely exists, it does sound like Puff Daddy, and it is frrrrresh.

Ronan (Ronan), Saturday, 29 March 2003 22:06 (twenty-three years ago)

diddy only says a few things in it ned, heh. even by dint of the weirdness of the collab itself this would have been ginormous, it may even chart or anything, jesus 2003 finally gets its ass in gear.

Ronan (Ronan), Saturday, 29 March 2003 22:07 (twenty-three years ago)

Took the year long enough.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Saturday, 29 March 2003 22:11 (twenty-three years ago)

Yeah the Miami House Bilderbergers have done a good job.

Ronan (Ronan), Saturday, 29 March 2003 22:13 (twenty-three years ago)

isn't diddy doing a whole house album (including felix da housecat)?

edward (big E.D), Sunday, 30 March 2003 00:13 (twenty-three years ago)

dam him and his efforts to make me dislike him less

stevem (blueski), Sunday, 30 March 2003 00:27 (twenty-three years ago)

The Emerson track's "Let's Get Ill," has Kelis on it as well

On the subject of Deep Dish producing hiphop artists, anyone know what's the deal with that Deep Dish "Nobody Listens To Techno" tune with the looped Eminem vocal that was doing the rounds last november? It doesn't seem to be released officially, and it's fucking great!

Siegbran (eofor), Sunday, 30 March 2003 10:03 (twenty-three years ago)

bastards - i had that idea but never got round to doing it :(

stevem (blueski), Sunday, 30 March 2003 10:15 (twenty-three years ago)

Chris Liebing also did something similar with that vocal recently in his Es Ist Freitagaaabend!! tune.

Siegbran (eofor), Sunday, 30 March 2003 10:22 (twenty-three years ago)

Ok I am totally unsure what this is now, but I suspect if the Emerson track is called that it may be that Diddy has brought in high profile remixers. Can anyone confirm?

Ronan (Ronan), Sunday, 30 March 2003 13:56 (twenty-three years ago)

Apparently, it's indeed titled "Let's Get Ill".

Siegbran (eofor), Sunday, 30 March 2003 14:17 (twenty-three years ago)

After a few days of listening, it grows on me. Musically it's nothing shocking, the typical Deep Dish tribal/techno beat with the synthline of I Feel Love on top and a big breakdown. I like the Kelis vocals better than Diddy's but it's a cool track that really works on the floors. I heard it in a Sander Kleinenberg set, and it sure is a lot better than most of the mindnumbingly boring progressive tunes he spins.

P Diddy and friends seems to be the moniker, is it indeed Deep Dish working with him? What's Emerson's contribution? Not heard the Kelis one yet.

Ronan (Ronan), Tuesday, 8 April 2003 20:41 (twenty-three years ago)

In setlists I've seen it's credited as P.Diddy ft Kelis - Let's Get Ill (Deep Dish remix), coupled with the other info I've heard leads me to believe:

- Diddy and Kelis are the two vocalists on the track (Kelis does the "my dreams are fears without you..." part, Diddy does the "your dreams have now been fulfilled/let's get up and let's get ill" part obviously)
- Nellee Hooper and Darren Emerson produced the original mix
- Deep Dish remixed it

But we'll see when it's officially released...

Siegbran (eofor), Tuesday, 8 April 2003 20:54 (twenty-three years ago)

I'm tempted to go to Deep Dish here in a fortnight just to hear them play it!

Ronan (Ronan), Tuesday, 8 April 2003 20:56 (twenty-three years ago)

Diddy has to just admit and quit while he's ahead. I love what he does but what the hell. It's time to quit. He's been tryna do to much as a young black entruprenuer. Sean John is the shit so just stick to making cloths.

Gotti, Wednesday, 9 April 2003 14:21 (twenty-three years ago)

I'd be happy if he stopped doing hiphop albums and started a full-time career as MC at dance events. I can totally imagine him standing in a huge hangar hyping 40,000 Germans on speed at some hardstyle night.

Siegbran (eofor), Wednesday, 9 April 2003 21:55 (twenty-three years ago)

I like the idea, I like the sillyness of the whole thing.

sounds a bit like the last European MTV Awards

three weeks pass...
ahahahaha omg this is terrible

Chip Morningstar (bob), Saturday, 3 May 2003 23:03 (twenty-three years ago)

"i have a dream this afternoon, shout out to martin luther king"

I have to say the novelty has worn off a bit, I don't think it's terrible though.

Ronan (Ronan), Sunday, 4 May 2003 21:00 (twenty-three years ago)

It was on telly last night, on the highlights of the Dancestar USA awards. It really seemed very rubbish. Diddy looked so like MC Hammer it wasn't funny, though, so that perhaps detracted from it.

Oh, and this was an award ceremony where Dirty Vegas' Days Go By was voted Record Of The Year. So the prospect of the people organising the thing having any taste seemed a bit implausible.

William Bloody Swygart (mrswygart), Sunday, 4 May 2003 21:27 (twenty-three years ago)

Miami Winter Cocaine Conference is something I want to go to but basically it's just a holiday and a bender for "the industry".

Ronan (Ronan), Sunday, 4 May 2003 21:30 (twenty-three years ago)

I saw Sander Kleinenberg spin this again last wednesday (back to back with Size DDD Nobody Listens To Techno) and cheesy as both may be, they definitely do the job of getting people moving...
