Say hi Speedranch!

Awww, don't be shy. Show us your face.

Anyway, he plays extremely noisey noise and extremely gabba banging techno.

But he looks very familiar doesn't he? You see I think that years ago, in another liftime, he was in a glam rock band. Look at the bullet belt! For the life of me I can't remember which one though, or who he was then.

Anyone got any idea?

His Execrate CD on the Leaf Label with Jansky Noise was pretty good. I believe he's based in Manchester, not too far away from Wales which leads me to believe he could have been a member of this truly abysmal band that I'm surprised I even know about (www.tigertailz.co.uk) or perhaps he was the bloke out of Dr and the Medics... He could also be Pete Burns without all the plastic surgery...

he's a tit, but he did a decent job on the atomsmasher/phantomsmasher stuff.

your null fame (yournullfame), Sunday, 30 March 2003 20:10 (twenty-three years ago)

he didnt look like that when me and ed saw him in sheffield a fair while ago.

ambrose (ambrose), Sunday, 30 March 2003 20:16 (twenty-three years ago)

dude, speedranch rules, and phantom/atomsmasher is the least of it. jansky brings out the best in him, fer sure, but that's the talent of the VVM - making everything better.

one month passes...
Speedranch should play a gig with Ministry.

Yeah, the sound fits and he looks a bit like Al Jougensen too.

one year passes...
I was just listening to / enduring Speedranch & Janskynoise - Mi^grate and these photos have really killed the buzz. Someone please tell me he's had a haircut and a wash since then.

His real name is Paul Richard, and I believe he was in a glam rock band when he lived in L.A. Don't know the name of the band, but you could probably ask on his website's forum as he posts there regularly.

When I saw Speedranch, he was throwing mic stands and huge fucking monitors into the crowd. at the crowd. at me.
barely before the "first track" had even begun.
easily the best live 10 minute gig (with added decapitation threat) i've ever known. I think at some point he bulldozed through the (fairly packed) room of people with similar disregard for life and limb and charged out the back door flying headfirst down a flight of stairs, too. He also had colossal fluorescent orange dreadlocks at the time. and Jimmy V/VM dressed in only leather kilt and boots, on 'guitar pedal'. the mere thought Speedy could be the guy from Doctor & The Medics now makes it seem even better...

Can I just say, that in those pictures he looks like a right tit.
