I got one at Goldsmiths a few weeks ago. The bloke who does it was promoting one of Whoreton's shows. Seemed more to be a fanzine about fandom and music criticism, which was weird. Namedropped both Tom and Marcello and a couple of other people. Still haven't listened to the free CD cause, well, Whoreton is on it. :-(

two months pass...
presumably by "whoreton" you mean Horton Jupiter from They Came From the Stars (I saw them), right? the article on music journalism on the web (which mentions ILM) was written by Dr. Myron Kosloff (guess what? not his real name...), a frequent visitor to this page but a rare blogger. i think he's a little worried you guys'll tear him apart... totally bored promote gigs and release records (well, tapes and cdr mostly actually) on a not-for-profit basis. issue two of the fanzine should be out soon and will hopefully feature most of the following: an article about The Residents, interviews with Rob Christiansen from Eggs and the Sisterhood of Convoluted Thinkers, and Gayatri Spivak, a damning review of the Go live and a hardly more sympathetic review of Menlo Park, a thing about the May Day demonstrations in London, John Tilbury from AMM ranting and raving about American imperialism and the War on Terror, something by John Tye (Twisted Science/ Hairy Butter)... if anyone's interested in contributing to a future issue or, heaven forbid, buying a copy....

Talk about ILX some more, and we'll all read it! ;-)

kate (kate), Tuesday, 17 June 2003 14:09 (twenty-three years ago)

Myron Kosloff is I. Well....I used to post here about a year ago, got a bit nervous and have compulsively lurked since and so wrote ILX rimming piece> am all aglow about the fact that some of you have read (and liked!) the zine. I think there's a few copies left in Helter Skelter in Denmark St. Buy some and I promise we'll big you up some more....

this thread has reminded me how pissed off i was yesterday when i was in a local record store and under 'T' there were no copies of my album and three of the They Came From The Stars album. grrrrr

Jim, that only goes to show that you album is SELLING and theirs is not.

I was well pleased last month when I went to < trendy London record shop > and found a copy of my album. I "faced" it and everything so my pink cartoon visage could gaze benignly at indie shopping kids. When I went back there last Saturday to restore it to its position, it was gone. I was devastated! Until HSA pointed out that meant someone had BOUGHT IT, and my pink visage was gazing benignly across their bedroom and their lovely pink cash would one day gaze benignly from my wallet!
