If you're in the UK you can often get it cheap. I've seen it for as little as £11 in HMV sales.

However, if you - like me - are interested in as many stereo versions as possible of songs where stereo mixes do exist, then "Hot Rock" is the superior choice, accompanied by some compilation of their 70s onwards material in addition.

There are some good songs hidden among those b-sides like "Memo from Turner" and "I Don't Know Why", that I think are not available any other place. "Memo from Turner" is particularly evil, with some great nasty slide guitar from Ry Cooder. Many of the other b-sides are some good tracks off of some of their mid-60s records.
Add in The Stones albums Beggars Banquet to Exile and you have pretty much the cream of their musical output.
I've been listening to the Stones quite a bit lately for the first time in a few years.
The two records I have been getting into the most are "Goats Head Soup" and "It's Only Rock and Roll". I have come to the conclusion that they may be better than some have given them credit, as any records in the wake of Exile on Main St. are going to be a let down. The song "Fingerprint File" has to be one of the most coked out, paranoid funk songs ever recorded this side of Sly Stone.

Steel Wheels is a great album! "Sad Sad Sad" was the best rocker they'd written since Tattoo You, and I put "Slippin' Away" on my POX because Keith plays it so much I just have really come to enjoy the song and identify it with him.
