This now seems to have disappeared completely from the bookshops and even from Amazon. Does anyone know of any record or second hand book shops (UK) that might have it?

I'm kicking myself for putting off buying it when it came out!

I just bought a german translation on ebay (since buying an english one is a) highly unlikely and b) fukcign expensive) and found out later that buying it from amazon.de would've been cheaper... I would however buy the original if I could find it somewhere priced reasonably. (why don't they reprint it? or maybe we should collectively ask them to do so, it seems to me that a lot of the people here would want one (i've seen requests in a couple of threads)

Cheers Willem, but it's nearly 12 years since I studied German, so I think the intricacies would be rather lost on me. I guess I'll have to write to headheritage.com and get that petition going!

Balderdash. It's far from a definitive account, true. But it's written in the spirit of the music by someone that clearly loves it dearly. Mind you, I've never felt any need to listen to his records.

I lent my copy of this to a guy about 5 years ago. Every once in a while I ask him if I can have it back, and he's like "sure thing". But he never does. Last time I spoke to him he confessed that he hadn't even opened it up!
