According to Julian Cope's tell-all tome "Head On," he co-wrote a song with Ian McCulloch in the early days before the Teardrops & the Bunnymen with the absolutely briliant title, "I'm Bloody Sure You're On Drugs!"

Does it exist on any recorded format? I don't believe so, but I'd love to hear it.

There's supposedly recordings of the following colaborations dwelling deep within some dusty reel-to-reel vaults, some just improvised moments, others worked-out pieces, but all are really no more than rumor/hearsay at this point:

I don't think so. A few songs from the Crucial Three/A Shallow Madness era were eventually recorded. Mac accuses Cope of stealing "Spacehopper" and "Robert Mitchum." Not to mention the age old debate over who really wrote "Read it in Books."

Head On is a great book.

The rest of the aborted Neil Young "Historical Figures" LP. Rumor had it that "Cortez The Killer" was written and recorded for this album, but he changed his mind, and put it "Zuma" instead;the other completed tracks were abandoned.

according to Miles' autobiography, Prince sent him a tape of some tunes he'd composed for "Tutu" (I believe), but when Prince heard what was going to be on the album, he didn't think his tunes fit. Something to that effect.

Jimi Hendrix and Love's The Everlasting First. Supposedly because of contract issues, Arthur Lee has been unable to release the entire album. Only the title song has been officially released (it appeared on Love's False Start LP).

About three years ago there was a story allegedly from Kraftwerk's record company (CBS?) that a courier dumped a whole bag full of DATS of new Kraftwerk material on their front desk. Did we hear it? No.

I've heard the Hendrix/Little Richard stuff. 2 tracks on a Little Richard comp called "Shut Up!" on Rhino. Hound Dog and Whole Lotta Shakin', to be specific, recorded in 1964. They're OK. Don and Dewey are on them, too.

Hendrix played on L Richard's "I Don't Know What You Got (But It's Got Me). A bloodcurdling ballad, one of the greatest records of all time. A favorite of Otis Redding.

My sister has an LP of those sessions. I think it was done on Pickwick or some other cheapy label. I haven't heard the record.
