Clearly, Pg. 99 is the Wu Tang Clan of Hardcore

Has anyone heard/seen/care about this band? They recently broke up.

They have like 15 people on stage whenever they perform and have a bazillion side projects each (earning the Wu Tang comparison).

I'm listening to the City of Caterpillar LP (one of their side projects) and it seems to sound like Mogwai or Slint one minute and insane brutal hardcore the next.

but the Wu is actually *good* and has spawned some classic solo albums (Raekwon's "Cuban Links", Ghostface's "Ironman" and "Supreme Clientele")

I'd say Slipknot or one of those other numetal bands is a closer match

I don't think the Wu ever wore FACE MASKS.

Jon Williams (ex machina), Monday, 9 June 2003 12:11 (twenty-two years ago)

Ghost wore a face mask as part of his gimmick for about a year

also I was comparing Pg. 99 to Slipknot, not the Wu to Slipknot

PG 99 didn't USED to be like that.. when i lived in the area they didn't have tons of people on stage.. etc.
sometimes they had a few, but they put on a great show

im not really into that screamo bullshti though

Jon likes hardcore about girls dumping him and/or not returning his calls.

Ian likes indie rock about tree houses.

Tree houses > girls dumping me

Ian Johnson, Thursday, 12 June 2003 18:01 (twenty-two years ago)

Truly. I don't think pg 99 sings about girls dumping them though!
