Glockenspiel. Kindergarden. Piano. "Walk into the jaws of hell". "We can wipe you out. Anytime." Acceleration. A piano drone. The Descent into the abyss. Hundred million raindrops. Over and over and over. Fuck this is beautiful.

so what do you really think of the new radiohead there, alex¿

dyson (dyson), Friday, 13 June 2003 21:35 (twenty-two years ago)

this is not a great track. the "raindrops" part lurches along quite clumsily, IMO. none of the grace evident on the last two (four?) records.

it is really awesome, didn't i make myself clear, dyson? and you, what do you think of it? what do you mean by really?

no, kilian, the raindrops part is great. especially those fireworks sounds at the end. absolutely phantabulistic.

absolutely phantabulistic.
i learnt a new word today.

the "really" in my earlier post was sarcasm – i am a bastard. it is very, very , very obvious you like the new album.

as for the song i don't think i've had enough time to let it sink in – but i do really like how it picks up at the "raindrops" part and the way the drums come in towards the end.

A lot of the songs are much better at the end than the beginning. This one, "2+2=5," "Where You End and I Begin."

I dunno. This is another one of those songs that does something over and over, has an electronic freakout and then...ends.

I like the end a lot better than the beginning. The hammering yammering electrofrenzy freakout is ace.

(Yes, I gave up and just dragged a boombox in to work so I could listen to the copy protected CDs I bought at the weekend.)

Damn, I thought there was a thread for each song. There isn't, I don't think... ?

I'm so behind the times.

kate (kate), Tuesday, 17 June 2003 09:33 (twenty-two years ago)

The yammering electrofrenzy freakout wouldn't really work without the slow piano opening though, would it?

I'd like to see them *really* prog it out at Glasto and turn it into some sort of trance epic thing.

there is a thread for each song, kate. check this thread with all the links.

I can never really remember anything about the beginning, but the end is great. I love the harmonies and the dn'b feel.
