Skegness?

It's big in my house :) But it's all Assault i'm affraid. Must investigate more. Just saw Assault DJ last week. I think the word i'm looking for is: brilliant. Everything played at +8, big fuck-off bass and no discrimination of any genre. Everything truly goes!

Search: The mix Cd half of Assault's Belle Isle Tech and the 12´´ with Yo Relatives (Daphne and Celeste: cover this now!!) and Sometimes. Assualt live. Dj Godfather's Player Haters in Dis House and the one about, erm, oral sex. Can't recall the title. (Yeah right: As if there is only one.)

Hmm, nothing outside of Detroit from me, I'm afraid. Dunno what's new/going on in Detroit either, but if WJLB has online radio, that on a Saturday night might be a good place to go. Incredibly, 3-4 years ago, Assault and booty bass was the sound on that city's most popular radio station. Could still be.

Destroy: Jefferson Avenue, the new Assault record. Slowed tempos? Attempts at legit R&B/hip-hop? Acch. And all of the foul-mouthed business is an incredible drag when its spread over a four-minute tune rather than whipping by at a million and three bpm.

damn, i'd clean forgot Playa Haters In Dis House, Godfather played that out earlier this year. that totally rocks. anyone heard Off The Chain For The Y2K?

gareth, Friday, 27 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I am *living* Off the Chain for the Y2K right now. Awesome album, funk at lightspeed, resembles both rave and happy hardcore at times in sheer freneticism and wide-eyed euphoria. Mind you I don't own any other Assault mix CDs so there's little basis for me to compare to his other work.

Booty & Ghetto Tech... Its alive in London!!!

Try WIDE at The Clinic, Soho.

We've had DJ Godfather and Disco D over to play and they blew the place apart. If anyone's passing through London drop us an email.

the CDs Booty Bounce vols 1 & 2 are good ways of getting into Miami Bass (yes, Miami was first).

Not heard any of those (add Aquasky too, who did a passable Miami bass diversion a while back) but I always figured that nu-skool breaks and booty bass was a meeting waiting to happen, if not actually something the world needed

also ed solo, too

talking specifically about crap like the booty breaks label and crap like hot cakes

I gave some of the DJ Deekline stuff a listen out of curiosity. It is slick and inane. I can't really get upset about this stuff because it will get swept under the rug in a couple years.

Can anyone draw out the respective genealogies of "hold up, wait a minute" and "uh oh!". I'm just curious as to where they're originally from and how they came into ubiquity.
