Hi all, I've recently start digging for some of the older classic post punk material like Wire-Pink Flag, Buzzcocks, Joy Division, etc. Can you give me some recommendations from that era?

I was wonder which album by Gang Of Four is the best? I've only heard a few tracks from their Peel Sessions.

I'm also looking for more rock with an edge to it. i dig Mogwai, Radiohead, My Bloody Valentine, Godspeed You Black Emperor!, Tristeza, Do Make Say Think, Explosions in the Sky, etc. Someone gave a few tunes from Grandaddy which were a ok. What are some other bands to look for?

Best Gang of 4 record, I think, is actually that Peel Sessions disc. (Others disagree with me vehemently.)

Seconding some recommendations:
the LiLiPUT double-CD is stellar
Wire's _Chairs Missing_ yes yes yes
Swell Maps, _Jane from Occupied Europe_
X-Ray Spex, _Germ Free Adolescents_ (more punk than post, but awesome)
and yes, the Homosexuals are incredible and totally worth looking for, but n.b. they have never had an official CD--you may have to dig around a little
